I... what.
You need to go read about Eggs.
This deck runs the risk of the same style of banning because it takes WAY too long and there is just so much durdling.

Also what does durdling mean? Didn't find it in a dictionary.

It's a magic term a lot of people will say.
It basically means doing a lot of seemingly meaningless actions for little to no gain, but ultimately end up winning the game.
Oh I guess that's why that 5/9 turtle is called the Durdle Turtle? I thought they called it that just cause it sounded funny/rhymed haha
Edit: so random question. Just discovered the exquisite blood/sanguine bond combo on reddit..... Why is that not constantly used? Such supreme bullshit must surely have a place, no?

This is what I was refering to. Just watch this nonsense. (It's 1 hr 49 minutes long for 3 games.)

Those cards are only legal in formats such as Modern and Legacy but if you're playing those two formats you have more powerful things you can be doing.

It's a combo, so you need something to deal damage to the enemy (or heal yourself), and the player, not just a creature, right after you play them (otherwise I assume the other player will have something to destroy an enchantment on his turn). There's also the cost, I think it's 7 between both cards? So you're not too likely to use it at early turns.
Uh, Leyline of sanctity looks pretty good. Or does "you" only refer to a player, not his creatures and stuff? And that's pretty darn good versus Abzan.
Someone tell me I'm crazy for considering bringing Parasect to the doubles Generation showdown online event. Cus right now I'm on the thought process of well with primal kyogre it'll heal and stop fire attacks and spore is awesome. Also with Mega Ray out it moves two of it's weaknesses to neutral damage. I have no idea how good it'd be but it just sounds potentially good.

Player only, but still really good.
Ok your explanation makes sense I suppose; it doesn't help that I have truly no idea how things work/power levels in modern, never mind the ridiculousness that is legacy/vintage.
Edit: pulled a muscle in my neck drying my hair. Fuck getting old

Wow, I haven't played Magic in a longgggg time. The only cards I recognized were Lightning Bolt and the Ornithopter O_O (and Black Lotus I guess).

How is a two card win not powerful?
These two cards don't actually win the game They just say that when life totals change, you get to set up an infinite loop. You still actually need to kill them. So you need a 3rd card. But the more cards involved in a combo, the easier it becomes to disrupt or break up.
It's ridiculously expensive You're playing two five mana cards. 10 mana is a lot for a kill condition (and that's not including the actual 3rd card to trigger the kill). Furthermore Black is not a colour that has access to fast, easy mana. That traditionally belongs to Red and Green. (There is an exception in Legacy but I'll talk about that later.) So that means that either you need to warp your deck in a weird way in order to make a lot of Black mana fast, or you have to play a very slow game and wait for your ten mana. True, you could think about playing both spells on turn after another but...
#1 Rule in card games: Good decks play good cards. Neither of your pet cards affect the board or do anything for you without having the other in play. If you decide to tap out on turn 5 to play one card, and wait until the next turn to play the other you basically give your opponent a free turn. That's bad.
If you have one of the cards by itself, it doesn't save you from losing or help you win. It's just an expensive dumb card. Exquisite Blood sitting by itself on the board cries as your face is beaten down by creatures. Sanguine Bond sits around feeling very silly and is an expensive paperweight minus the weight.
Consider the Amulet Bloom deck. True, Hive Mind is a bit dead-weight. However, Primeval Titan is a great card by itself. It's a giant creature with a great ability and can win a game by itself if you need it to. You're happy to just play it by itself. Summoner's Pact can be used as a kill condition with Hive Mind, but it's also a way of searching for a big creature like Primeval Titan to win the game. It's a good card by itself. Amulet of Vigor is really niche, but at least it's very cheap. You can just play it Turn 2, immediately play a land and untap using its ability, and you've already gained value. A combo decks needs to have a few "dead" cards as possible, and if you play an expensive dead card it needs to either win you the game then and there (like Omniscience) or you shouldn't play it.
It tries to do something other decks just do better Want something more resilient? Splinter Twin has blue so you can play Counterspells to protect your combo. (Also part of your combo are creatures that give you a backup plan of just beating down someone's face if you have to which was relevant in the Semifinals today.) Want something silly but goes completely over the top? Amulet Bloom can be ridiculously fast and let you play big expensive spells really fast. Want something with massive amounts of redundancy and consistency? Legacy Storm is literally a deck with 59 cards that search for more cards/makes mana/protects the combo, and 1 card that actually kills your opponent.
Remember when I said Legacy had Black combo decks? Go back to that Legacy Storm deck I mentioned. Its kill condition is something called Tendrils of Agony. Read what the Storm mechanic does. It lets you create a lot of copies of the same spell which means if you have a high enough Storm count, you can power through all of your opponent's counterspells. Remember, Storm is 59 mana/draw/protect cards and 1 kill condition. So you can blow through a lot of cards just drawing your deck, making mana, protecting the combo and play easily 20 cards in one turn before finally unleashing the kill. Haha good luck stopping that. It's a combo that can just instantly kill someone out of nowhere in one big turn. Since it uses low mana cards, it doesn't need a lot of resources to get started. Your combo is strictly worse than this deck. So it can't be played in Legacy (well not unless you want to lose).
On February 09 2015 07:12 Frolossus wrote: in legacy magic don't most games end in like 2 turns?
Not really. There are only a few decks (like the Spanish Inquisition, or Belcher) that can pull out blistering fast turn 1 or 2 wins. However typically games take much longer due to the presence of cheap/free counterspells. As a result, a lot of combo decks try to slow down their game plan in order to play around these counterspells and guarantee the win. (Ofc some just try to go faster so your milage may vary...)

Any suggestions? I'd like something really good, but fairly simple and small. I've got little girl hands.
The Roccat Kone Pure is apparently a very small mouse and most reviews seem positive. I don't own one so idk what it's actually like but I am tempted to get a Roccat mouse.
