Dragging the game late is really easy so long as you know how to keep your teir ones up while you hit 6 and 11. Once you hit 11 you can start remote mining the tops of your ramps and in well traveled places. As soon as they start crossing over, or if you want to guarrentee a kill hit them with a stun, pop the 7-10 remotes and its usually enough to kill most anyone. Dusa and TA are the two main issues I have, that and anyone with the ability to chase/silence me. While not optimal you can also push turrets like crazy, level 4 mines only takes 5-6 uses to kill a t1 and t2.

I do still occasionally hop on Smite. The gameplay is fun as heck, and I still think the community is (on a whole) better than LoL. I think Hi-Rez has done a great job on it.

Horseman Huntsman Super Techincally, Firehawk and Firebird ground mount. But those were 100% drops back then.

Overall content-based probably wrath (and ulduar being the best raid instance blizz ever designed) but I probably had more fun overall BC raiding (which could have simply been because of the guild I was in at the time).

Make level 1-30 more trivial, more free champs per week, lower costs on a lot of the champs, more IP per game, etc.

My friend grinded for Rivendare's mount for like a year straight. I mean serious, he never missed a reset, could do the instance with his eyes closed grind. When he finally got it, he kept going back out of habit even though it brought him physical pain. I beat him for rolls on Headless Horseman's mount. Twice. Both times my rolls were higher than his by 1 or so. On February 04 2015 06:20 WaveofShadow wrote: I definitely spent the most time on wrath by far. I could agree with that. I looooooved Kara, but I wasn't as big of a fan of SSC or the Eye. I felt like Wrath's dungeons were amazing despite the whole phasing out of CC. And yeah, Ulduar was a goddamn masterpiece (even though TOC and ICC were kinda meh). Despite being a frozen wasteland, Northrend felt way more alive than Outland or any of the Cata zones. I did really like Mists' world, though.

This kind of model sort of has a first adopter's advantage--where it's really hard for other companies to mimic it and expect to see the same success, given how the cost people have already spent on League really discourages people from switching to something else with the same business model. I think it's fine that Riot did it (the idea that an F2P MOBA would be sustainable purely selling cosmetics wasn't really proven yet at that point, and it would be a pretty risky move for a company that wasn't all that rich yet making their first foray into the market), but it's pretty silly for other companies to try and break into the now-established market with that business model.
