like if you are a vegetarian you'd probably want to convince other people that your lifestyle is better and if you can't even convince your SO where are you This right here is pretty fucking dumb. You don't have to have "strong beliefs" to hold a vegetarian diet, or any diet in general. It can literally all come down to a matter of preference. It's like saying that if somebody is religious then they have to be a zealot. Well then, time to not date anybody outside of our own religions or not date anybody religious if we're not part of one. It's the difference between dating somebody that drinks and somebody that is an alcoholic. The issue isn't what they consume, it's how it affects other people. you don't have to have strong beliefs to be a neo nazi but you could say it might not be a good idea for a black rights activist to date one you're just taking everything to the extreme case when im talking about just a statistical thing like you're more likely to break up with someone if you're a vegetarian and the other person is not or something also if someone is a "vegetarian by preference" that's not the type of person who calls themself a vegetarian, i dont really like icecream but i don't identify myself as someone who doesn't like icecream, i just dont fucking order it Really? Nazism by itself is a radical idea, I don't see how that qualifies. Of every relationship I've been in since I stopped eating meat, 0 of them ended due to issues about eating meat. It's as impactful as my being left handed. Whether or not somebody calls themselves a vegetarian doesn't matter. They are one by definition. The reason you don't identify as an non-icecream eater is because you don't live in a culture that wants to put ice cream in every meal and upon meeting you, people don't assume you eat ice cream. On January 27 2015 10:45 Slayer91 wrote: why would you if she doesnt care then obviously it wont be a problem in the least bit
That's the whole point of why we're still talking about this. becuase you're taking your own case as the be-all-end-all and not that womens studies grad who thinks everyone who eats bacon is guilty of murder stop dealing in absolutes like a sith its less likely that vegetarians will get along with someone who isn't one because there are a lot of them with strong beliefs and trying to make a change in the world and not that they just dont like eating meat. I think you are the one talking in absolutes talking about womens studies grads like its somehow related to vegetarians. Or even animal rights activists. My ex, Soniv's ex, Ghalo, and PX are not like that. I don't think I have ever been lectured for eating meat in my life. how many vegetarians do you actually meet that give you a hard time about eating meat or are you just extrapolating from internet memes to assume its all true?

While recovering from a cold yesterday I took my cat to the vet because she'd been breathing heavily the past few days.
+ Show Spoiler +The vet only had to look at her to confirm she was breathing abnormally. A quick check and her heartrate was also way above what it should have been (even for cats on edge because vet). X-rays revealed that her lungs and abdomen were full of fluid. Because she wouldn't lay on her back they couldn't get a clear picture of her heart, but the vet suspected it wasn't doing well either. Her blood oxygen level was 75%, which was literally on the edge of functional (norm for cats is well about 90%), any less and she'd be cyanotic and quickly die. Tests for feline leukemia and AIDS came back negative. This left the following scenarios: - An incurable, infectious disease that would shortly lead to her death.
- Severe heart disease, which would shortly lead to her death.
- Some unknown thing, also shortly leading to death.
You can guess the rest. My devastation level is WW3 and the only reason I'm at work is because I'd only get more depressed if I stayed home. The only way yesterday could be topped is if our other cat gets sick because of this. My wife was quietly panicking when we got home and went into a cleaning/sanitization frenzy.
TL;DR suckiest day of my life.

Seriously why is this a discussion on OT? Eat what you want, don't try force others to do what you do or be all passive aggressive about it.

TL;DR suckiest day of my life. That's awful. I think it would probably be comforting (and more accurate maybe?) to assume it was either a natural predisposition or genetic abnormality that struck your cat---I don't know that I've ever heard of a young pet getting sick like that, and I know inbreeding amongst household pets (less so in cats obviously, but still) causes all sorts of genetic problems. It's likely just bad luck. Sorry man.

Addendum, the vet didn't think she was actually 5 years old, but older. Either way her condition was too severe.

I'm sorry you're from the united states I didn't explain myself properly. I was making satirical reference to a stereotype. said grad would also naturally believe that all sex is rape. this doesn't mean that the rest of my post was sarcastic though, a common false dichotomy people tend to make
I doesn't really matter about your specific cases, they aren't statistically representative, I don't have any proof either I'm just making a hypothesis. That is that a single person eating as a vegetarian wouldn't make any difference so if you're going to be a vegetarian if its not for preference sake there's a good chance you'd want other people to be the same. It tends to be more difficult of people with strong beliefs to get along with someone of different beliefs. i.e there are far fewer mixed religion weddings than same religion weddings.

they totally wouldn't if they didnt exist anymore because nobody had any purpose for them though that said animal abuse is really shitty most people are too poor to be able to really afford to not eat cheap nutritious meat though and they have feelings too
