I played it for the first time last month as part of board game rotation but it was only one round and then we moved to other games.

The strategy for the first age is a little more complicated. You don't want to build all the resources yourself - you want to build resources that you and your neighbors need, and you don't want to build resources that your neighbors have already. If you're going for science you want to get as much science as possible, obviously, but otherwise you want a mixture of resources, trading cards, and military. The age 1 point cards are almost never worth it, just build your wonder instead. Once you add the expansions in, it gets a lot more interesting. Leaders is the best expansion by far, followed by the Wonder Pack. Cities is still good, but Leaders does so much for the game. I'm still not sure about the Babel expansion, but it seems good.

I flew for the first time in over 10 years when I went to California last year and didn't have any issues (was had to do everything by myself). Didn't even miss my connecting flights. You'll be fine.
I remember my first flight alone. Was Gdansk -> Frankfurt > London and damn both airports in Frankfurt and London are fucking huge and I was pretty stressed, especially since I had like an hour after landing in Frankfurt to check in to London and my flight was delayed but all in all, everything went smooth.

My first flight alone (well actually I was flying with my brother but I was the "responsible" one) was terrible. I hate driving, and it's a ~1hour drive to the airport. I have a sleepless night because of packing and general stress, we sprint out the door early in the morning, and the first thing I do is back into my neighbor's company car parked across the street from us. When I say back into, I really mean back into. Like, huge dent in his car and getting out rips our rear bumper off. So we're already late for the plane, and I have to stand their while our neighbor chews me out for being an awful driver. Which I totally am, but I'm still irritated by some of the things he said. You'd think I ran over his wife and job. Anyways, I'm about to break down and cry while we shove the back bumper in the trunk and book it to the airport. The road is stupid busy for the time of day, we pull into the parking lot, and the attendant tells me I'm not parked straight enough. While backing out I manage to scrape the paint on another car. Go me. Now I have two awkward conversations to look forward to. Once we got into the airport, everything went smoothly. Met up with my parents in Cali, had awkward conversations, learned how to deal with insurance companies. Anyways the point is I never understand why people are scared of flying but totally okay with driving.
I flew by myself at around age 10? It was young enough that they had the air folks keep an eye on me as I switched planes from Michigan to Atlanta and then on to Florida. I thought it was pretty neat, I got to sit in first class because mom made me dress up for airlines cus she worked with one.

Never took the plane, I'd prob be anxious and stressed for nothing (well, basically the unknown closing upon) then feel totally fine during the flight (after 20 or so minutes of uneasiness), grumble about my stupid mind forcing this on me, and proceed to still get anxious, but less, next time I'd take it.
