Geez.
Amongst the rare people I go out with there's that girl, not too talkative but generally likeable. We first met last summer but for various reasons related to morale and her job she was practically never available. We got back into contact something like 3 months ago and went out to a bar I talked to her about regularly for the last month or so.
No serious attraction on my part and I "knew" she wasn't interested in me so nothing special. I consider trying to date her anyway, just to "gain experience" and work on my insecurities as she'll reject me so it's not like there'd be consequences. A waiter who recently broke up takes interest in her (not making her pay a drink, asking one of us if he can introduce him), so even though when I ask her she says she's not really interested in him, I resolve to "try my luck" after he makes a move last tuesday (invites us to tabletop sunday, obviously aimed at her). I try and arrange to see her today, just to under 5 minutes of conversation that they're together now.

Man I'm good.

Not that much considering I didn't expect anything (well, I know parts of me did, but another characteristic shared between themselves is that they are to be excluded from the conscious decision making process), and it'd have mostly been reking myself anyway.

Next step, refuse the instinctual reaction of getting angry at myself, which'd lead to swallowing in self-despising and prevent any kind of evolution or improvement. Just because I've done it for years doesn't mean now isn't as good a time as any to stop.

Oh I don't think I liked her (nor did I think it'd work between us), was just to get more used to these situations (y'know, trial by error, find the obvious ones to avoid next). The frustration is a part of me that's desperate to be with someone and wants me to believe she'd have accepted to date me. Irrational all that.

And a clone of myself wouldn't help, Ghandi, since I'm not a therapist. With three Jeffs, you should have noted by now that there isn't one to redeem the others.
