We should really lower down our population by some measure though. Would globally controlled birth rates every fly you guys think?

Not really necessary. Birth rate stabilizes in wealthy countries. Alternatively you ship growing populations to falling ones - make the Nigerians live in Russia.

Doesn't a lot of Europe either have negative birthrate or it's declining steadily and the only way they keep up positive population growth is through immigration?

Yes, but 8 billion (is it really 8 billion already) is still way too much. Unless we find some glorious biotech revolutionary technology (hoping to be a part of this) our precious Terra will be exhausted sooner rather than later.

This planet can easily support 8 billion. Renewable food and energy sources can supply us all. We just have to be more careful.

Ok, well, you could worry and complain about it, or you could drop everything that you spend your time on and enjoy in favor of learning a skill to create this "legacy".

Ultimately, it's not going to matter, and once you're gone, you won't care anymore. Creating a situation that causes you sadness or stress won't help at all.

And if you believe in an afterlife (which I think you do), do you want to spend your living days wishing you would change something so that you don't spend your "afterdays" wishing you had? Or would you rather just enjoy life now, and care less about after.

It only can support 8 billion people if we create supercrops / go full insect / economize fusion energy (it's coming, sooner than you think) / get a little bit of coke in our food every day (just kidding, but it might help, maybe? It's defnitely up for discussion, just like daily drinking aka alcoholism is)

The human brain is really weird. I'd encourage you to read You Are Not So Smart and similar books that detail just how weird it is.

For example, there was a study done which showed that interviewers who were given less than 15-seconds with a candidate made very similar decisions to those who were given a full interview. Barring egregious failures of competence the first impressions carried through the interview.

So an interviewer expecting someone experienced is going to react in ways you may not want when someone who looks like they just might be old enough to have graduated college walks in.

well, just like a drink of wine or whiskey or beer (tiny bit of alcohol) can be good for you, maybe can a tiny bit of cocaine be?
It's quiets down appetite, it makes you see things brighter, it makes you more focussed.

MDMA is also a great substance, but not per se for daily usage. Great anti depressant though

On the topic of Malthusian theory, can we talk about eugenics?

I find it interesting how it became popular in the 30s and 40s, but then everyone was like "oh shit the Nazis liked this" and popularity fell, but then with the rise of women's rights (particularly reproductive rights), eugenics has in some ways become a fait accompli, without anyone saying a word: 92% of Down's syndrome fetuses in Europe are terminated.

Got stories about the last three times I was a host to someone. They pretty much confirm I'm a shitty one (when there were 4 people for a week-end they did chill and have a good time though, through each other).

Plus I expect to more or less botch my dinner, it's the first time I do it. So don't feel to jealous for my programmed meal.

I went mage this time. First game of the run, opposing mage has Fireball, Frostbolt, Flamestrike, Blizzard, Flame Cannon and Pyroblast.
My deck has 2 frostbolts. Do I have to keep going about how I haven't been playing Hearthstone but handing arena players free wins through sheer draft RNG regardless of our respective play for a month now?

Actually 3 mages in a row. I beat one because he has nothing to put on board. The other has flamestrikes and frostbolts too, topdecking flamestrike right on turn 7 after I establish board control. But hey, it's all me not playing well, I should expect the topdeck every single turn shouldn't I?

Finished 1-3. Shitty priest dude didn't have anything to do, he topdeck'd a holy nova on turn 7 after I put some stuff on board. Then one of his two cards on turn 11 after my ogre was a mind control. Such decision-making.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.
