Edit: It was actually really funny. When I was looking for a job most of my recruiters/contacts were like, "It might be a good idea to shave your goatee, there are cultural preconceptions that might get in the way of hiring". One look at my driver's license photo threw that suggestion out the window, you can't get a job that requires 5+ years of experience when you look like you haven't finished college. | ||

I watch this and I realize that nothing I'm doing with my life is making the world a better place. I'm just making some office workers jobs easier by automating their processes, how can I ever compare to people who are doing work like this? asdufhas;oasidfh I really wish I was smarter or had some sort of talent. Stuff like that video makes my life feel really pointless sometimes. | ||

Eldest has a story where she worked with this homeless old man in Montreal that even her agency had given up on, and somehow she fucking reunites him with his long-lost family in Israel! WTF? How can I compete with such a thing? "Oh I made this graphing tool to help visualize simulation results"? WTF! | ||

You have control over the shit you do, if you really wanted to invent some life altering invention, you could. But maybe you don't have the drive or conviction to learn all that would be necessary, and that's totally ok too. Or maybe you're just a lazy fuck like me who just doesn't care, and that's fine. You have a job, you contribute to society. Not everyone is going to invent world changing things. | ||

Also, no, guys, everyone has to make world changing inventions all the time. It's how this world is supposed to work now. Instant gratifying world changing inventions to change mankind for at least the next five minutes. What else are you doing here on this planet? We should really lower down our population by some measure though. Would globally controlled birth rates every fly you guys think? | ||
