Oh yeah and if someone is depressed they gotta tell someone about it for sure. Like I was trying to say its never appropriate to tell someone to "just be happy". but putting a smile and a shrug on or a light hearted middle finger to your problems can often help. Hope all goes well with your family Frudgey you are a great example of what it means to be a positive guy that brightens others around you even if your only contact is digitally.

Oh, to be clear that wasn't some "pull yourself out of your depression by your bootstraps" crap, there are doctors for the heavy stuff.

But in that example say, the office manager said that because my coworker was complaining about having to travel (driven by colleagues) 40 minutes to attend a free company lunch with free drinks and prizes and the rest of the day off.

You can't control your emotions but you can control your actions.

set it up, matchmaker

I mean, she's French, so that's unfortunate, but she clearly has decent taste =P

She already invested in a futur doctor, you can't compete.

GvG out in Europe, but can't log in. Well I managed to for ~50 seconds, opened a pack, couldn't flip a single card then it crashed. I guess the results will be in my collection. Dun care, got out. Was nice. I'm actually surprised that girl wanted to go out for once, I think that's the first time I've heard her mention it without falling it or having a change of mind in-between.
Her pal was a chill dude and he plays the Irish flute and likes folk music in general. Didn't get his name because he joked that he has none, eh, whatever maybe I'll see them again. Prob not.

I spend a fair share of time hating the world. I don't think it's necessarily more healthy than hating myself. It doesn't block self-improvement as much, though. Plus it's not like the world doesn't deserve it. There's just that line to respect where I hate the world for whatever hate-worthy stuff it entails, without blaming it for what's my fault.
Just because some common behaviour is disagreeable to me doesn't mean it's fine for me to punch people about it. I think I'm still allowed to want to punch them from time to time, though. Evacuates stress and bitterness. Plus it's not their fault if common/default behaviour is shitty, they don't have to sacrifice themselves.

Look, aside from people with true mental issues like clinical depression(which I actually have personal experience with, so no I'm not speaking out of my ass on this subject), I do think everyone can be happy. That said, what I have a problem with is this idea that telling someone 'be happy' or 'just smile' or whatever actually works. There's a phrase, confidence with congruence, that is really important. It's generally associated with picking up women, but it's just a generic emotional thing that happens to be important for that 'field.' What Alzadar said is actually quite good, but what I had a problem with was what his manager said. I get that from Alz's perspective it was pretty cool, but his manager needs to go read some Dale Carnagie or something because that's garbage.

I'm not saying pessimism is good and mopey guy should continue practicing being mopey guy, but Fake it Til you Make it is stupid and also contributes to negative feedback loops as well because success is never a guarantee, and that guy who is down and insecure will take it even worse if he truly puts effort into faking it and still comes up short. What that guy needs is something legitimately worth being happy and confident about, so he knows the feeling and knows what he wants to project, knows he is capable of it, and has a fallback point. Emotional congruence. A manager can really help bring that out in an employee by reinforcing the good things he does. He could even make the same basic remark and just phrase it differently and it becomes incredibly positive.

"Hey [mopey guy's name], you do good work around here, keep your head up man. Look at what it does for Alzadar over there, guy pretends to love working here so much it actually makes you believe it. Ha." -generic manager guy

I think positive reinforcement goes a long ways towards happiness and confidence. And thinking more about what red_ said, I think there is a relation to happiness and confidence. I know for me I was happier working at the University than I was at the local Coffee shop because at the university I was told "Hey you're doing good work; keep it up" where I never heard that at all at the local Coffee shop. I mean there are certainly other reasons why I enjoyed working at the University more than the Coffee shop (WHOO MATHEMATICS!) but I think the positive reinforcement went a long ways.

Furthermore, when I compare myself to my two step-sisters, I'm a much happier person than they are, but I'm also a much more confident person. I grew up in a positive environment where I got a ton of support from my parents, where my step-sisters grew up in an environment where their mother belittled them, shouted at them, and told them that they couldn't amount to anything. And because of this, they have long lasting psychological damage. My one step-sister I already mentioned is in the hospital, where the other one has some serious confidence issues and I don't think that she's a happy person.

I mean even looking at my friends, now that I think about it my more "confident" friends tend to be happier people than those who lack self-confidence.

I'm not really going anywhere with this, I'm just putting my personal thoughts on the internet at this point. It has been an enlightening discussion though. I am very much enjoying it.

Prediction: once things stabilize from GvG there will be only two deck types: mech aggro and control Priest.

Shrinkmeister removed Priest's only weakness, so now they roflstomp other control decks while also being really good at beating aggro.

I wish people would stop saying things like they know things lol. Priest will be good, but its not because of that. And Mech Aggro is only hilarious because no one is running board wipes.

Told you. Gazlowe looks awesome, even if he probably won't be optimal or anything (decks that'd look to replenish your hand with minions using it would be aggro-ish or tempo I guess, who fear running out of steam, however by the time you play Gazlowe and refill your hand if your opponent is more control-oriented he's probably dropping the big guys).
I like the concept anyway and it's one of the legendaries I'd be happy opening... for a short while before I notice everyone crafted Old Shredder and shit like that and shits all over me with copy-pasted decks.

The pseudo-deathrattle Hunter I quickly threw up for the quest still beat that aggro warlock with Old Shredder though, because freezing trap when it's the only thing on board is quite the dick move (same with turn 2 explosive trap and sacrificing my leper gnome in his void walker as he has flame imp and blood imp out on top of it).
Hunter is a dick class in general. I did win more, more easily, and faster than with other stuff, but I didn't feel any satisfaction out of it.

i had an opposing shaman coin out his windfury mech, which i didn't kill on turn 1. turn 2 he gave it rockbiter and abusive sergeant, 16 damage to face. turn 3 he added a flametongue, left me at 4 hp. i got the board clear, then he crackled on turn 4 to win. i just burst out laughing, that was hilarious

Turns 1-4 set up your unstable ghoul/double armorsmith machine, turn 5 siege engine into unstable ghoul suicide, or something like that.

Current mech-mage is probably extremely efficient. Spare parts to fuel Antonidas and Gazlowe as a finisher, pls.
