I had a dream last night where i said "Je parle un petit peu de français" but they laughed at my quebecois accent.
I lived with superior officer for three years and don't plan on getting married anytime soon. Sounds expensive but a hell of a party. bonne chance req
in 5e it seems so OP that you start with an average of like 130++ gold pieces and also you get explorers packs and everything you really need inside. (WTS: useless bedroll) like I can buy a good riding horse. and stay in an inn for months. Even if you had to pay for everything those numbers just seem so high. (poor monks doe)
If you go with the a la carte starting equipment you have to pay for an Explorer's Pack. Buying everything is expensive.
Buying everything in 5th edition is super expensive. I know for my Dragonborn Paladin I was much better off taking the Paladin starting equipment then actually going to buy it for myself.
That being said, I think for the spell casters they might be better off buying their own equipment.

also, Ahri is more fox-like. What does the fox say?

quick calc including ditching the things i didn't even want and actually paying for my class stuff.... I'm still thinking its better to go with coinage for my class if you get even a slightly below average roll and prefer the armour choice i did. I can see how stuff like paladin would go the other way though. fuck i need more sleeeeeep can't believe i missed that.
wait soniv what did you mean by class pre-reqs for gear
asmo i will fix my money and equipment when i get a chance so soz

I like to think of myself as a genuinely happy person, but I think I've just been lucky with the life that I've been given. Though I am very much a "glass half full" kind of person. I think having a positive attitude goes a long ways towards happiness in my opinion, but I am aware that it's not possible for everyone to get into a positive mental space like myself.
Sorry if I sound like I have a superiority complex, that isn't my intention at all. Also thanks again Shelke for such an honest response. It was enlightening to read.
Every once in a while I can keep it real and talk serious matters. Glad you liked it.

I highly value this thread for its entertainment value.
Also Shelke, if you got the whole week of Christmas off, what are you going to do? Go down to the orphanage and hand out some free chips and some sagely advice?
Get fucking drunk.
Sounds like a pretty good plan.
Before you go and we never see you again, I'd like to ask you a question.
What's the secret to happiness?
Serious: I actually have a had time keeping happy and often find myself feeling down and hating a lot of shit. But I mask it by keeping up the persona of this extremely energetic happy go lucky person and pass it off by being extremely nice to everyone I meet in person. Shits hard but I've been recently trying to be as positive as possible and always looking to the greener side of things.
Back to me. Umm just enjoy every moment you can, often times yolo swag where ever you can (which is everywhere). Do the shit you love, keep gold digging annoying bitches off you and just get drunk and let the good times roll. Buddddyyyyy

Smile!
Serious though, the emotions you project are reflected back to you. I make an effort to always smile and be cheerful when dealing with other people, and it comes back to me. Last week at the company lunch the office manager was criticizing my colleague for always looking mopey and she said "be more like Alzadar, he is always smiling." And hearing nice things like that makes you smile for real, creating a positive feedback loop.

And it created a negative feedback loop for the other employee. I'm sure they don't enjoy being visibly 'mopey,' then someone points it out publicly, which is going to make them more mopey and insecure about being mopey. Telling them 'just smile' is like telling a poor person 'just have money.' You're telling them what they want, now how to get there.

While I absolutely endorse being positive at all times, I think sometimes people just can't help but to sometimes feel down.
I know that depression has run in my Dad's side of the family for a bit and I think when you're affected by depression you honestly can't become happy. Or even if we look at my brother who has Aspergers, sometimes he'll just feel down just because. Or even if you look at my step-sister, she's in the hospital right now trying to get treatment because her mental state is just that bad. I mean, she cuts her wrists she's in so much mental pain.
Of course that being said, I think if you focus more on the positives instead of the negatives you'll be much happier for it. I guess the point that I was trying to make is that some people simply can't be happy if they tried. But I do also think that some people can be more optimistic, but they just choose not to.
