You burn spells often in that game because it's mid-high level D&D combat so Wizards do everything, but mostly you can be pretty conservative if you're not overloading on the bad damage spells.

(I'd probably have progressed much further in BG2 if I didn't find the combat tedious, moreso in a "sleep 8 hours after every non-trivial encounter, even in the case when racing against the clock", although if I wasn't so bad I wouldn't need to burn spells so often. Also I think it bugged since Aerie initiated a convo, and after reloading right after and playing a bunch of hours and ingame days since she hasn't initiated it again.) That'll be the day Alaric's QQ will end, he will see the light.

I'm not very good at min-maxing that kind of stuff so yeah there's obviously a bunch of waste (I had a friend who on the contrary loves that tell me how strong bears are against golems too for example), and compared to tabletop there's a lot more fighting done per hour of gameplay (and hence per ingame day) so obviously you sleep more. It's just... when I screwed up at the very first dungeon and had to sleep 3-4 times, meaning my "breakout" of Irenicus' dungeon took a good 2 days in game time, suspension of disbelief frowned at me. x) (Starting with a 20 HP thief because I didn't check the hit dice didn't help, especially with a bunch of points in detect/disarm traps considering I already have Jan. I think I miss more than half the backstab attacks too, I must have done something very wrong with the build so he doesn't feel too useful in the end.)

I don't want to manage people today. I want to go home and play video games or listen to music. Today feels like a Monday.

I'm going to be late on my schedule and this is going to be hell to test too, 'cause I'll need new data sets for each test. >< I was supposed to be done by this morning and I don't know if I'll be done tonight...

So I dreamed that TLLOLOTGD was a real physical place where we would all teleport to I guess and hang out. It was in the basement of a mall. But then one time I went and there was some weird promotion where you had to buy a ring to get in, so I did but then instead of you guys there was a triangular church, with an altar on each side. I thought that was weird and tried to leave but then the mass started, and I didn't know which way to face cause there were three altars. Also there were lots of people with Down's syndrome dancing in the pews, and arguing with each other over whether it was ok to dance. The end.
