Back to the "building a PC" talk...

I can get a 240 GB SSD for ~$20 after rebates / reselling part of a bundle / $10 gift card, which is great because my original SSD was only 120 GB back in Ye Old Days Of New Technology, and so I had to move C:/Users to D:/Users using junctions/syslinks to make space and it created all sorts of problems, one of the major ones being that Chrome installs half of the shit to %APPDATA% on the Users folder and thus takes a billion years to load.

My mobo only has 2 SATA3 headers, which is no problem since my HDD is a Green Drive that caps at 3 GB/s so I could just keep 120 GB as C:/ for SATA3_0 primary and then use the new 240 GB as SATA3_1 and move the HDD to SATA2_0

Unfortunately, I only have 1 SATA3 cable, and my modular PSU's 15-pin SATA cables are either A: too short or B: only has 2 plugs.

So now I have to either spend $ to have really shitty looking cables, $$$ to have nice looking cables, or waste another 2 weekend of my life crimping/sleeving my own cables.

Oh man, my cable management in my box is abhorrent. I keep meaning to go back and clean it up, but I keep forgetting/am too lazy. My SSD is just sitting free floating in a nest of cables LOL.

When I got my SSD, I had similar issues with shit getting mapped halfway between C:/ and D:/ - ended up getting fixed once I upgraded to Windows 8.1 cuz I just dumped all the random old shit I had/didn't need/was broken. I really should look into getting a new SSD though cuz I only have a 64GB one...

lol mine is garbage too. Didn't get a modular PSU so there are just random wires chilling in their. That said I don't plan on opening the case up till something breaks again. Too many painful memories.

I have the BitFenix Prodigy m-ITX which is a very spacious case for the kind of mobo you're supposed to put in it, but I have a 120mm radiator and 240mm radiator in there since I was too much of a cheapskate to get a real water cooling loop so I'm using CLCs (a proper CPU one, and then one zip-tied to my GPU).

Then I ran into static pressure problems because I have too many duster covers/radiators so each radiator has push/pull fans on it because I'd rather strap on two $5 Cougar fans than shell out for SP120s.

So now I have to spend a lot of effort on cable management because otherwise there is 0 airflow and the internal air temps get too high.

The struggle life is real.

There was a period of time in college when I had one of my case faces open and a floor fan blowing into it because my GPU fan and a case fan died T_T

I like the idea of m-itx, having a mini gaming cube for a computer is a cool idea, but then you soon realize you done fucked up because you're not OCD enough to make a proper m-itx build that can game without overheating, all while having proper cable management. Then after that's all done, you realize now that you can no longer can have like 5 2tb drives to raid, since the case is so small, so then you end up purchasing an NAS of sorts. All of which could have been avoided if you had just bought a proper mid tower, or matx form tower.

My case is comically over-sized for what's inside it. Not so nice for moving but the upside is that it runs as cool as can be. In fact it seems like an anomaly in physical laws, as the air around the box is colder than the rest of the room.

Mine too. I have this monstrous Cooler Master glowy red and blue case with ports for water cooling and everything. Lol I barely even remember my specs it's been so long since I built it/paid attention to my computer in general.

My case barely fits my giant heat-sink inside it. Literally it has this artful design on the sides that "stick out" a portion of the sides. Without it it wouldnt fit LOL.

You can see it here, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-070-ZA
