It's basically Persona without all the high school/social sim stuff, and a little less accessible. Hence why it's not as popular.

P2>P3>>>P4. That's not to say P4 is bad, just I liked 2 and 3 waaaaaaaaaay more. P2 is for PS1 only, and I hear copies for it are ridiculously hard/expensive to come by. Starting at P3 is a great option.
Also played, but didn't beat SMT:Nocturne. Only played it cuz Dante from DMC was in it.

As I said before, I think Persona 3 marks the point at which Atlus usurped Square Enix's position as the premier AAA JRPG developer/publisher.

From the first-hand accounts I heard P3 has aa really terrible and clunky interface compared to P4 that makes the game harder to bear (not sure how it is if you don't have the point of comparison though).

The problem with the "main" SMT series is the long time between releases and schizophrenic change in release platforms meant that it never built up a consistent fanbase the way Persona did (since Persona basically built up its fanbase on the PS/PS2). SMT 1/2 were PC Engine/Super Famicom games that never got Western releases, and SMT3 basically had no hype from these being released almost 10 years after SMT2 as a PS2 game (and naturally almost zero hype in the West). Likewise, SMT4 came out 10 years after SMT3, on the 3DS. There's almost no way Atlus could expect such disparate releases on different platforms to build up a consistent fanbase.

Well, or emulate them or wait for re-releases years later, but most people who own new current-generation consoles aren't looking to play remakes of 10-20 year old games. Retro gaming tends to be a pretty niche audience, especially when it comes to games that never got releases in their native language.

So this is like all hypothetical and shit,
But suppose Curse Team B makes it in, they have to get dropped for a new sponser right? What's to stop Curse from selling that team to say, idk TL, for stupid cheap/ An arm and a Leg?
