Being in a relationship makes one realize how trivial some 'outside of relationship' problems can be and how easily solvable many (but not all) of them are. Good luck bro.
I don't really call it pretending to care. It's more that you care enough about the person that you'll listen to the stuff they care about because it's important to them regardless of how boring you find it. Kind of like how you'll listen to your grandmother say the same thing 20 times because she's your grandmother.
I know the first thing I'm going to miss when my grandmother passes on are the 45-minute conversations that basically amount to "I think you'd be really handsome if you just cut your hair".

The program basically allows you to have the entire magic card collection downloaded and you can create decks. You then log into a server (woogerworks) and are able to create/join games. So for example my bro makes a game, I join. We both select deck lists we saved in Cockatrice and click ready. The game starts and it's pretty open from there. You can play everything from your hand without playing a land or draw your entire deck but obviously that's stupid and missing the point so in a way it's just like irl. You have to know how everything actually works and then it's just a matter of becoming familiar with the functions set up in cockatrice i.e. you don't "scry" you "look at the top _ of your deck" and then you put it in your hand or use the "send to bottom of library" option. It's not that bad it's just not super fancy/pretty and it's not like having actual cards
@Alz if you know the meaning of every word that was printed on a Magic card, my hat off to you.

There's a ton of subjects I don't exactly care about but I'll listen to people talk about it either because I enjoy seeing the person be animated and happy, or because I find it interesting to receive people's point of view about different stuff (reason why I'd rather ask someone than use Google whenever opinion is involved). I'm bad at small talk (partly because my everyday life is pretty empty and boring to most people) so it's either big bland blanks or long declarations. I know that through the net I've made a few people run away because we're just talking and at one point we reach a topic I'm interested in that seems to interest them too (easy one: music). Since I dislike cookie-cutter answers I try to get something somewhat elaborated, to give some matter and expose my tastes/opinions so there's room for discussion; it seems to shut them off immediatly. The annoying part is that most just let you hang there; in a sense you can't blame them, they've got no obligation to waste their time, but on the other hand fuck them, I'd rather get a "you go way too fast into this it scares me / you talk too much / Bo-ring!" than just silence to put an end to the conversation. People may pretend it's more "tactful" but it's fucking hypocritical.
Better talk to someone face to face and if you annoy them you see it and you can drop it and go "whatever", but also they won't just up and leave, or start straight-out ignoring you. Poor thing will need four seconds of his time to tell you you don't make a good conversationalist, but hey you'll get better feedback at least.
You'll have to crash anyway, so might as well do it asap to learn. Worst case if you really end up miserable and life's main purpose is to scrrew you you'll get to tell Wave and cheer him up by showing life could be way worse. Be a bro, go get cold stares whenever you're out.

My grandmother doesn't like the goatee, or my hair being more than a quarter inch long. Needless to say I don't follow her advice in this regard. That doesn't stop her from trying.
In fact there's a funny story relating to that. Years ago when my wife and I were still just friends my grandmother talked to my wife's mother and said, "You know Monte could really use a hair cut, maybe if you told JoAnne to mention that to him he'd listen to her."
My now mother-in-law was a bit taken aback by this, and after a moment replied, "I'm willing to talk about Monte's hair if you're willing to talk about your husband's comb over."
That subject has not come up with my mother-in-law since.

A quarter of an inch is dreadfully short though.

I'm exaggerating, but yeah I pretty much never have it short enough for her.

my grandmother used to bother me about the beard, but then she turned demented and now she doesn't even remember we're related
I WON IN THE END

Sorry Alaric your post was too long, didn't interest me enough to read it.
