The elusive Montegomery makes an appearance in a foreign territory...

That's pretty dumb. I'm all for absurdist humor but shows like this (and the Tim and Eric show, among others) seem to just be "picks words out of a dictionary and then put them on the screen". HAHAHA SO RANDUM WOW.
|
But it's not 'Good.' I'd have to wager 80% of the shows on there are crude for the sake of being crude and completely random with very little intelligence or writing put in. Compare a show like archer to something like fucking squidbillies for example.
Even the oldest shows by Williams Street showed the beginnings of that trend toward completely nonsensical humor (sgc2c) and it's just escalated since then. I truly don't understand what makes so many shows like that so popular, and too many cooks is just one more example with slightly less humor and more shock value thrown in.

To further comment and reflect on the non buzz feed article monte linked, there's nothing wrong with absurdism at all, and I can appreciate it, but when everything that comes out of that station is reeking of it, (xavier renegade angel, for example) the effect is massively diluted and grows stale quickly.
