About Marche and the Viera god thing; + Show Spoiler +I leveled him up as a Paladin because Grand-cross (I think that's the AoE though? I'm thinking about the "pay 32 MP, quadruple your damage and turn it holy" ability) + double MP (doubles the damage and the cost) seemed like one of the biggest burst possible for me at the time (x8 normal attack damage, x16 on undead). Getting to 64 MP that early was hard though and Paladin gains almost none, so I used to give me some White Mage levels, then Thief mainly for "steal: armour", then Paladin. Go as Paladin/Thief with the angel ring, steal Babus' armour, get one-shot by his magic, revive, then one-shot him with the combo. After that I completed Thief then moved to Ninja. Can't remembe which second set I gave him. I don't remember Steal: ability being available too early?
On the other hand, when you've got an overleveled character with access to the thief class, make your standard characters hit him for +20 exp at a time, then steal it from them for super fast level up. When he's high enough, stop stealing the exp so the others get levels too.

What you level abilities for and what you gain class level-ups in are not linked in any way so long as the class you want to gain stats for is the one that pushes you over the 100 XP mark. Even if you're learning Paladin abilities, every levelup on any Human should always be Ninja.
Steal: Ability is available early two ways, either through certain region create setups, or through leveing the Negotiate clan skill to 20. The latter is possible early because there's a monthly repeatable quest that levels Negotiate really fast that opens up if you disband down to less than 6 clan members, but nobody knows this on their first playthrough.

Wait you guys actually like tryhard optimize FFTA isn't it like a really easy game anyway?

It is, but there's multiplayer which is what mostly motivates optimization (well, that, and optimization for optimization's sake) until you realize that optimized multiplayer is all who goes first and hits their 1-hit-kill moves.

FFTA/A2 does have the issue that only Hume/Viera are needed to beat the game. Moogles are only useful in giving your Hume/Viera units extra turns and everything else is crap.
By the way, if you think Hume/Viera are OP in FFTA, you should see what happened in FFTA2: they got even MORE OP. Like mind blowingly OP. Seriously SEX what were you thinking????
I actually think Laws are interesting and GOOD for the game. It forces you to diversity your strategy/team and not feed in the same 6-man squad all the time. I think the reward/penalty and the actual laws could use a bit of improvement, but I can totally understand why it is in the game.
If I were to design a new tactics game I would definitely insert some form of FFTA(2)'s Law mechanics.

optimization in that game just involves getting 2 ninjas to hit each other for about 30 minutes at 1500% gamespeed to max level things

Laws conceptually are fine, it's just the implementation in FFTA was totally flawed. Part of it being that virtually nothing in the game is time-sensitive, so there's no downside to wandering around the world map until you get a set of laws that does nothing.

FFTA? You can't hit friendly units in FFTA.

Law system in A2 was much better, but I still think it could use some improvements.
The Law system does feel a little arbitrary and frustrating to play with sometimes; but I think A2's Law system + some way of warning a player when he is about to break a law will make the game better.

Friend linked me that (prob just taking from the abandonedpics twitter to grab easy views or something). Comment a few pictures, stop at the train graveyard one because I realise they often produce some sort of effect on me. They're pretty surreal, and I guess they also don't give the same "blockey" feeling as buildings (and trains are much longer than higher so a slightly elevated photograph shows depth and the maze-like place whereas an abandoned city or building hides the view after the first wall unless it's an aerial photograph). I dunno, there's some sort of... thing, with them. Reminds me of how gripping the train graveyard was in FF VII. So we listen to that.
That whole part of FF VII, the slums, was actually so good. And the pace in the Shindra building too. The whole "you're not all-powerful yet" feeling since you have to hide at first, and sneak through, then once you're caught you end up emprisonned. But the slums. The train graveyard, and the train station itself, the NPCs you see there, the situation they depict, and the flashbacks about the war. That's really one of my favourite atmospheres to start a game in.
I hasarded a guess that trains showing up a bunch in Japan has to do with stuff like the Shinkansen and how symbolic it is. Friend pointed out there's a bunch of roads in American RPGs. Is that true? The whole "road trip" thing—I guess it is true that you have these gigantic roads crossing the country from one coast to another, the way Japan's trains cross from south to north. Not sure what would qualify in European games. Or Europe's vision in general. He said streets. I thought more about "old downtown" with the open places and bunch of small streets coming and going, the whole "passage" where life isn't the people remaining there but that all kinds (and a lot) of people cross there going about their day, making them bustling with life.
I think I don't make much sense. Dunno, it's vague in my head too. But these are probably atmospheres I like coming across when I go out, or just seeing used in stories.

I respond to the email, no response in 2 days. I call them again, they say they will email me, they finally reply. I respond again, I wait for a response for 4 days. I see no email, I give up and decide that bleeding from my butt hole is the only way to go.

I blogged about shitty razer support / products a couple years ago and one of their team actually contacted me about it through my blog lol.
That was when SC2 was huge and TL was the esports shizzle though, all eyes were here.

Steam is so weird. paying under 30$ and having Bastion, Dishonoured and Bioshock Inifinite just seems impossible when I remember how expensive games are these days. Also, just finished replaying Link between worlds on hero mode. To anyone who has a 3ds and doesn't have this, plz go buy.

I lay down for bed,
Then work calls and says "Come in Early, we have a situation." Oh, and I have to be in at 4am.
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST SUNDAY EVER. I'll be sure to say good night when I get home assuming I can drive at that point.
