I feel like I spend so much time killing every enemy/checking every house/part of the map, trying to evenly level up all characters.
Fire Emblem kinda makes me want to play Valkyria Chronicles again.

There is a rating system which evaluate your play and # of turns is one of the factors for the rating, but most people don't play for that unless you are super hardcore. EDIT: actually it's not entirely true. On certain levels, if you beat the level by X turns, or sometimes by visiting a certain town before the enemies, you can get to a "secret" level. I don't think it's super important on the one you are playing, but yeah there are certain reasons why you might want to play more aggressively.

S-Ranking Fire Emblem 7 is a good bragging right and gives you the best end and max unlocked characters but you're forced to blitz the maps really hard sometimes to keep your speed score up. And you need to keep managing your weapons and funds to not get penalised on that score either. You can use anyone, since you can reclass them after they hit max level, which resets their levels allowing further stats growth. Choosing parents is a different issue though. Also, this may be obvious already, but you might want to skip the characters with few support options, like Anna. Supports are pretty strong in this game and you definitely don't want a singleton character in your main team.

@sung_moon don't even level all your characters lol. Unless you're gonna arena abuse, part of what's important is figuring out who you are and aren't going to use.

The ability to reclass and reset levels means that literally every character is viable if you're willing to grind. Some characters still have better class options and stat growth %s than others, but for the most part Fire Emblem: Awakening plays as a game where you are free to do anything you want if you feel like it. I've written more extensively about it here. Also don't listen to Yango. Chrom x Sumia OTP.

Swordfaire from Olivia blows. You have to farm a stupid amount to get both Galeforce for Inigo and Swordfaire for Lucina and Dark Flier is better than any of Lucina's other end classes even if it wastes the Falchion.

HenryxTharja is funny imo, those two are polar opposites attitude wise, but both will just as quickly murder someone.
