Actually, what would you say are the really backwater states? To me the entire southern half of the U.S. except Texas, California and Florida seem like the boonies. I assume Idaho is in there.
edit: ok I was a little off with Idaho's positioning. pretty much entire midwest is giant shithole.

So I guess I will cancel my plans to move to Nebraska.

Unless you really like Steak and Corn on the Cob and really shitty weather, then ya, you probably should.

Reminds me of my friend moving to Winnipeg to take his Master's, doesn't know anyone there.
Things about Winnipeg: - Cold - Named their city after a cartoon bear because there's nothing else interesting in Winnipeg

My cousin is in Winnipeg too. My impression is that that city sucks.

Took the day off today to get the car stuff sorted out. Turned out that the Dash CPU was locked in Anti Theft Mode because it "lost" identification of the Key and as such locked the Front Wheels in 4x4 Wheel Locked mode. 20 bucks to reset the CPU and everything is back to normal.
I then cleaned the house. The whole thing.
Anyone want to dotes?

Chicago ain't bad. Also, I think Boulder's still "mid-west" by that reckoning, and that's a decent enough place by all accounts.

Yeah, some of the big cities aren't so bad, but pretty much outside of those big cities are shitholes.

I look forward to hearing more about your sweltering 100 degrees days and toxic air.

It's okay though, cuz beaches are near by.

A 2008 H3. It's a jeep with a Hummer Clause that says GO WHEREVER THE FUCK YOU WANT. Plus living Sub 5 miles from work is a bonus. Even with negative Hummer Modifiers I only have to fill up every 2 weeks. For the city of houston that's pretty good.

We have 103 lakes in my county so there's some beaches (not as nice ) but more affordable to live here :D
