The game doesn't work in physical space. They made a lot of design decisions that ONLY work because it is a digital game. Lorewalker Cho/Duplicate have a similar problem. Secrets are just a logistical nightmare if they don't happen automatically. Hidden cards can have modified attributes (Farsight is probably the worst offender here, but at least it's unplayable). Even disregarding all of the stuff that's mostly impossible (at least in a tournament setting), there's just a lot of stuff that works much more cleanly when it's handled automatically--upkeep on minions, random rolls, weird interactions (some of which not even pros seem to understand fully), etc etc. Also the balance policy modifies cards. | ||
