Poll winner was "Challenge Game", with the list Super Meat Boy, Binding of Issac, Risk of Rain, FTL, Battleblock Theater, Kerbal Space Program. Anyone have requests from that list or other games they'd like to see streamed? Otherwise I'll likely start with Risk of Rain and move from there. Isaac IMO, but I'm biased. I'll watch once my guys s in bed and my dinner is ready. I beat Mom's heart doing the Dr. Fetus challenge without knowing it counted towards my overall Mom kills and now I feel like a dirty cheater. Why would that make you a cheater. There's plenty more of the game beyond mom, and you'll have to do that stuff eventually too. Risk of rain looks like fun but I've never seen anyone get anywhere in that game because of how hard it is. Lol maybe I should play Isaac tonight instead of dark souls since it seems not as many people are interested in it. Hmm I see. So would it be wrong to just grind out Mom kills on this challenge? I feel like so many of the good items are locked behind Mom. Basically I want the D6 real bad lol. I understand the appeal behind the D6, but I don't like it myself. The only reason why I don't like it is because I don't like having the responsibility of re-rolls. I am a far happier man when I don't have to think about whether or not I have to re-roll an item or not. Watching Northernlion has made me realize that with the power known as the D6 comes great responsibility. I'm not ready for the responsibility. Also I unlocked the D6 way earlier than I should have. + Show Spoiler + Basically what had happened is that I was fighting Mom's heart before I had unlocked Blue Baby. I don't remember who I was playing exactly, but I had the Ankh. I die, come back as Blue Baby, and defeat Mom's heart. I unlocked the D6 afterwords because I had technically beaten the game as Blue Baby even though I had not unlocked him yet. For the record, my favourite character in Binding of Isaac is Cain, and my least favourite is Samson. Hmm maybe I should poll this... On July 31 2014 08:16 jcarlsoniv wrote: Frudgey, you should play Rift with us Right now? I'm working man, otherwise I'd consider it! Still though, I'm touched by the sentiment. The D6 is the key to high level play/speedrunning/racing. You very quickly learn by watching streams which items are worth rerolling which ones should be picked up and why, and another fun part about it is if you watch any of the BoI leagues is many of the players have their own quirks about their play as well (such as one player picking up familiars where most players don't). I don't think I'm good enough to start timing myself on runs or anything either but I think I know the theory behind much of it at least. Edit: Hmm. Apparently Crypt of the Necrodancer was officially released today. Maybe I'll buy that and stream it tonight. The music is really awesome but I'm not sure the replayability is there from watching pre-release streams of it. I do know a LOT of the Isaac players have been playing it like crazy though, so there must be something to it. Oh I'm well aware of the D6's potential. I'm just saying that I'm happier not using it, hence why I prefer other characters. That and I'm a sucker for Luck Foot. My preference for not wanting to use the D6 is much like the same reason why I play Darius over someone like Renekton. Sure Renekton is better, but I have more fun with Darius hence that's who I play. Maybe not the best analogy, but I am well aware that some items are worth re-rolling and others are not. And for the most part it is a pretty simple yes/no answer to whether or not you re-roll something. I'm just saying that I don't like having to me strategic about re-rolls, like when I re-roll, how to plan them, etc. And I know that I could be lazy and not plan with the D6 and stuff, but that'd drive me mad. It'd be like me going for a C on a Math test when I know how to easily get an A. I mean, yes I can go for the C but I wouldn't be satisfied with myself. That's partly what killed my interest with Pokemon, my personality combined with the knowledge of EV training. I could't force myself to be ignorant of that kind of stuff, so I became meticulous with it and it destroyed the pacing of the game for me. It wasn't the game's fault, but rather it was my own.

It's really fun to talk to you guys about the game to be honest. That and it's nice to have relevant interests.
