The roster is whatever (excited for Rosalina and Greninja at least), but I have 0 expectations for Sm4sh. I'll pick it up either on Wii U or 3ds (quite possibly both), but it's just gonna be one of those things I have for fun.
I can tell you right now, judging from the preview tourney that Nintendo did, it's gonna be a fairly shitty iteration of smash, at least from any remotely competitive point of view. Hopefully not as bad as Brawl, but I'm not holding my breath.

in all honesty removing or nerfing metaknight would probably have a bigger impact on the state of the game

Robin: Intrigued. I'm interested in seeing how the ammo system/tome switch setup will work. Worried about it having "pokemon trainer" syndrome where, hypothetically, you really want to use squirtle in a matchup but have to switch out to a weaker option because he got tied.
Lucina: Disappointed. Roster wise, I despise clone characters. Melee was riddled with them, one being faster/lighter yet less powerful while the other is slower/heavier but more powerful. I remember reports say Marth felt more powerful during e3, and given the Lucina reveal, it makes me think they're moving Marth into the "Roy" position and having Lucina take his place. I'd honestly be happier is she was an alternate form for Marth.
Pac-Man: Eh, don't care too much either way.
Palutena: Looks like the "mish mash of a bunch of characters" fighter seen in some games. Not a fan if that's the case.
Mii Fighters: Looks amusing. People pull out some weird designs you wouldn't thin possible with mii creators. I have a zoidberg mii on my wii. The amusing part will be all the characters you can proxy into the game. A solid addition, imo.
Greninja: Looks pretty cool, worried about the "ninja" archetype with Shiek being an independent fighter now. Hopefully they're different enough to not step on each other's toes.
Lil Mac: Brawl was all about the ariel game. I have a feeling that Nintendo will miss the sweet spot with a ground game centric fighter and either end up with him being too strong or whiff to the point of suckdom. If they can pull it off, it'll be pretty cool.
Rosalina: Zelda clone + Luma?
Villager: Hilarious. I'd gladly take him over Lucas if that's the spot he's intended to fill.
Megaman: Not interested personally, but I know a few people who will main him regardless of the execution. Ranged A is interesting.
Wii-Fit Trainer: I am going to enjoy the fuck out of this. The character is full of troll with the plank pose ko watching. #teamyogapants

Hey guys what's going on in Offtopic.. today.. oh god damn it. You kids should know better then to image search the sonic fandom. I mean they pretty much turned the series into a fanfic in that one game, and you know what kind of fans that kind of stuff attracts. Well if you don't you should now.
I only played the original smash but I'm thinking of picking up the 3ds version of this new version. I pikachu'd many a person in my youth.

I have never been really into FGs; In fact playing with friends I was often the button mashing person since I never really knew what was going on lol. The latest Smash is really influencing me to learn more about these kinds of games though and the fact it's coming out on 3DS is really great because I don't own a console so my options are very limited.
As for the roster so far I really like it since there's a lot of characters I like on it.
