If you're going to pay them back in a week I really don't see the problem. It's not like you're asking to move back in rent free and have them buy your groceries and pay your car insurance. You need food. In fact, if your parents knew you were in this situation, it's their pride that would be hurt, because since the day they were born they've made it a priority to help you when you need it(which used to be all the time), but for some reason when you need it you won't let them? You've literally done nothing wrong, why punish yourself? This isn't ego it's stupidity. Edit: There's a large difference between feeling entitled to your parents' assistance(bad) and NEEDING your parents' assistance. | ||

Yes. I do, and a fridge, and a pantry. All of which are completely empty because I was waiting to go to the story until after this paycheck. Tell them you'll buy them a few rounds to make up for it when you get the check cashed, or something along those lines. Surely there is someone who will spot you some meals because they don't want to see you suffer, and won't hold it over your head(especially under the agreement that it will be made up very soon). | ||
