It looks like literally yesterday they came out with a patch for OpenSSL that fixes a bug where clients could read protected data from the server (your password etc.) This affects apache and ubuntu a lot (that's a lot of servers) but also SMPT mail like Microsoft Exchange Server. So I would say there are a lot of company email servers and smaller sites that are vulnerable out there until they upgrade.

Why are so many technology companies named "___Tek"? Does "tek" stand for something, or is it just a silly way of saying "technology?" I feel like there's a different/better reason why it's so prevalent, and I vaguely recall hearing something to that effect many years ago. Anyone?

Often times when we're working at home or are doing our hobbies, we have things running in the background. TV, music, movies, or the like. What do you prefer to have as your background noise? I often find that I work best when I have a movie on that I've watched a lot before, so I can look up at the good parts and still know what's going on for the rest of the time. What about you?

Podcasts, esports, and already-viewed-TV when I don't have to REALLY concentrate. Music (preferably instrumental [and usually game soundtracks]) when I have to concentrate.

i used to have a show/movie playing on a second monitor, but that's no longer feasible, due to needing to look at subs, since i went through most of my english language backlog and started watching more anime so these days it's me and my music, mostly some sort of mellow electronic but with a fair amount of variety sprinkled in

Even though most Japanese VAs are better, I don't think most anime I watch requires my full, undivided attention to read the subs. Also thanks for the music, will check out.

Been seeing if I could get some folks to play DnD with me but we all live pretty far away from each other so it's been difficult :x Roll20 is the most popular I've seen. I've not used it personally but I know people in my gaming group have and I think some of the RollPlay Twitch channels do as well.
