I don't disagree completely, but from what I remember, we DID talk about a wide variety of topics with decent frequency. There are good things about this thread, but the fact there is a separation in the community is not a good thing. That community aspect is huge, and I fear heavily for what TL LoL GD will turn into/is turning into. As in, what will keep people coming back and posting on TL LoL GD when the quality inevitably drops(if it already hasn't), and more people enjoy the OT thread?

You weren't allowed to post about non-LoL related topics in GD. The community here wouldn't be the way it is if we could only discuss LoL. Very little of my life involves league lol.
GD is just where you discuss LoL meta, patches, game stuff. It's where you go for the latest and greatest on LoL. I'm not interested in that. If you're interested in interacting with people who used to play League frequently enough to have posted in a LoL thread, this is the right place

You're right, we did, until people qqed because it wasn't LoL and then the mods laid down a decree.
It's not like we wanted to split away and make a separate thread for this, most people were fine just hanging out in LoL GD. But times change and so must we.

No... then Neo said cut the crap. And I dont' blame him. If I wanted to discuss the merits of three different Kha'zix builds based on the current meta in mid I don't want to wade through the stuff we post here and have my post get ignored or some one-liner. It's just different purposes. Both threads are serving their purpose. If GD is dying it's because there's a lack of interest in discussing League not because people came to OTGD.

Of course we talked about different stuff in OG LoL GD, but as far as I remember, it was usually reigned back into LoL fairly quickly.
Separation of the community isn't as big a deal as you think, imo. It's separated somewhat because people want to hang out in this thread, and a bunch of quality posters don't post in GD anymore. This is either caused by them not playing the game anymore, or because they just don't post.
I personally visit the GD thread very seldom (usually only if I'm bored and this thread is moving slowly). The thread is certainly different, but I don't think you need to blame this thread on that. Instead, take note of all of the different threads created for specific champion discussion, PBE discussion, testing discussion, etc. None of that shit used to exist, and that was all done in GD. Now the actual LoL info is completely spread out and segmented into different threads. Not really our fault, now is it?

Eh? "the gd isn't what it used to be" and comments on quality seem fairly odd. I mean for the longest time you could start 3 page tangents by mentioning karma, viktor or support ashe. I mean honestly nothing seems that far changed. Decent discussions on a champ or concept pop up, the occasional question/idea, and then it all turns into put the silliest champion in the oddest position. The only difference is less puns.

Usually the topics were a tangent of league discussion. Part of the reason it was tolerated was because of this.

It's only real seperation if somebody is forced to choose between one or another. In a way, we have evolved because of it. No longer are we a single thread in an other games section, we are a subforum big enough to sustain a general shitfest!

I don't understand why you seem to think I am implying blame anywhere. I don't blame this thread, and I do enjoy this place. I enjoy the game nights, and very much enjoy the community it has spawned.
