I guess I was spoiled by the golden age of games, but majority of AAA release games haven't been pushing the envelopes at all. That's not to say they aren't fun, but it's like publishers have quit trying.

When the Wii came out they had crazy good ad campaigns and basically everyone and their mother and their grandmother's retirement home was buying Wiis. Like my dad bought a Wii sort of out of the blue, he doesn't even play games. But the same people who were caught in the hype wave before don't even know that the WiiU exists. Because Nintendo had this bright idea to release a system without putting out any of their flagship franchises on it. No Smash Bros yet, no Zelda(afaik) even announced outside of a Dynasty Warriors reskin, Donkey Kong just came out like a week ago at most, no Metroid, took till black friday to get a Mario game. It was supposed to be a big deal that Bayonetta 2 was going to be an exclusive yet that hasn't come out either. They bought a Wii and they played WiiSports, WiiPlay and maybe WiiResort if they were a really hardcore gamer.

It tends to get slept on because casuals play it, but the motion controls were friendly and spot on and the games were fun except for boxing. People really underestimate how key WiiSports was as a launch title. Wtf was up with boxing. Nobody I knew could ever get much out of it, except my quadriplegic uncle who seemed to enjoy virtually beating up all his able-bodied brothers.

WiiSports Resort is pretty legit. I'd say all the games/sports are enjoyable with a few being the classic ones you can replay a bunch.

Also I can feel smugly superior to other gamers who clearly haven't built a PC when they ask moronic questions like "Why did you need a power supply, can't you plug it in to the wall?"

Especially when you cheap out on the cooling thinking it can totally handle it only for your PC to be eternally on the verge of exploding to the point where you only use your laptop. Yeah my first building experience wasn't fun in the end, at least lessons were learnt.

Well I have news for you buds! I deserve to be accepted even if I'm a lowly pre-built master race. Still a master race

Nintendo did a super shitty job about focusing on the new controller and not the physical system that so many people don't even know it's another console. Hardcore/casual, when refering to games, is probably one of the most cancerous, masturbatory things ever. Ugh, I want to make a computer of my own so bad but I never seem to have the money unless like my last situation when I needed to buy a laptop. Shitty mobile graphics card ahoy. Meanwhile friends call me to put their together. -.- On February 27 2014 08:27 Fusilero wrote: There are degrees of master race though, builders are more master.
