When someone says "This is real *insert genre* music" it automatically identifies them as a snob and devalues their opinion even though the intended effect is the opposite.

camera shake is hilarious but saying something surpasses the taytay original is straight sacrilege
Is wobblepop actually a thing? lmao best name ever
I do love Ellie Goulding
I'm not saying TSwift's Trouble is bad, I just prefer WotE. WotE's entire REVO album is pretty damn good.
wobblepop is my own word; couldn't think of an existing genre name for it
wote is great but acapella in general feels like a (really cool) novelty to me. you see (the visual aspect is often important to acapella performance) it, are awed, tell your friends to see it, but aren't going to put it on a playlist for regular listening unless it's pitch perfect

I'm kinda acapella'd out now honestly. I was in a group for a while but those people take their shit SO SERIOUSLY it just sucked all the fun and musicality out of it for me.

holy shit that Pentatonix Daft Punk was awesome
but I have to disagree with you - acapella isn't a visual thing for me. That video was crazy good, but the arrangement itself was amazingly well done and would have been just as good in just audio.
I'm slowly and very occasionally trying to teach myself to beat box, although I haven't put any real work into it.
Pitch perfect was super good because of both the music and cast

fair enough, to be honest i replayed the daft punk arrangement like 4-5 times just now in the background so i'm defeating my own argument haha

that definitely seems to be a common thing - of the people i knew who joined college acapella, the ones that seemed to enjoy it the most were in a more fun group that dressed up in period costumes that they had to be zipped into
hey so when you guys sing in the shower and stuff do you change pronouns/etc to match? i don't but that can be a problem (be the good GIRL, GIRL who has everything, i like disney and disney likes princesses) so it's a total crisis

I don't. I always notice it when I'm singing Misery Business lol, but I don't change things
