But, yeah, as possibly the biggest fan of Overgrowth out there, these maps are dreadful for Lotv. There's a reason they stopped using ported HotS maps after 2017.

I miss Ohana on the list, such an iconic map from the first WCS, and it stayed a long time too!

Antiga Shipyard is really stupid with the spawns, but was considered good at one point. Akilon Wastes and Golden Wall would also have been nice to see again. I don't miss the first WoL maps which are mostly famous for silly, short games.

Yeah, in terms of tournament winning percentage I think it's about the same as Zest in 2014 or INno in 2017 or Maru in 2018. Those guys would have probably won more if there were 9 GSL a year.

Didn't catch the first series, but I was pleasantly surprised by that game. Expected some players to show up in much better form than others and stomp, but that was hard fought.

No matter what it's fun to see these players again though. Mvp did disgusting things in the past with ghosts, would love to see him try his hand at some spooky mech, but it might be too micro intensive for a rusty player.

Mvp honestly played better than I expected, but I don't know what he was trying to accomplish with those siege tanks overextending every time. If he played defensive and teched to ghost after getting his 4th he was in a great spot imo

He's just playing the matchup more or less exactly how he would've played it in 2014, perfectly showcasing how mech isn't viable today without using Ghosts.

That's why you can't just superficially compare tournament victories from pre 2014 to now. Back then there were 9 gsls and a weekend international tournament every other week (sometimes every week!!)

Maru would have 25 gsls if they kept the same amount lol
