I was rank 39 after the very difficult first part, so with two good rounds in a row I might crack the top 10?

I mean if herO beats DRG, who will be his next opponent in the RO4? in GSL '22 season 2, the 2nd vs 2nd winner (Bunny) became the opponent in the 1st semi match but in GSL '22 season 1, the 2nd vs 2nd winner (Rogue) became the opponent in the 2nd semi match. the only formula that seems to makes sense is a preference for matching players who were not fighting in the same RO10 group what happens then if the RO4 consists of 3 players from RO10 group A (e.g. herO, Rag and GuMi) and only 1 player from RO10 group B (Maru)? will it just be a coin toss or something?

DRG and herO only have to prepare for 2

Starleague leans more towards prep, at least for the knockout phase (but I recall in some of the OSL/MSL in BW, group matches were spaced out over days so that players don't play multiple matches against different opponents in a day). Now the RO6 has adopted a weekender format.

I appreciate the extra difficulty for those fighting their way up from 3rd place. the disavantage feels justified because it's based on RO10 results. if 3rd vs 3rd winner beats 2nd vs 2nd loser, then it is a decisively the best player who got through

Now the RO6 has adopted a weekender format. It's four players, the same amount as in a ro20 group. Not really that close to a Weekender imo

It's just about Starleague format for knockout rounds being about players prepping for a week towards a single match. That's all.
