After receiving a lot of interest on the idea we are excited to announce the WardiTV : Let's Get our ArchON tournament! This event will feature only Archon matches between high level players.
Registration is CLOSED -- thank you everybody that signed up, we have selected 16 teams to play in the event.
Sorry if you signed up and your team did not make it in - we will amend the format in future events due to the interest we saw, but it wasn't possible to accept everybody for this event.
Player Schedule Groups will be broadcast separately from when they are played, to help with scheduling issues. Players are still allowed to stream their own games even if we are not broadcasting.

They can easily practice against just one player. Lambo, harstem,elazer,soul also have played a decent amount of archon games. And now with this tournament the teams will prob play some matches against each other as well,

Some EU pros use Archon to prepare for Korean opponents. Most noteable Reynor vs 2 Player archon for Maru earlier this year. They also Play quite a lot of Archon for fun.

Woah. There's some very exciting teams signed-up. Didn't expect Maru to sign up to an event like this given his injury and how little he plays online stuff. And SpeCial + TIME is a spicy combination--we don't often get to see Chinese players in the same events as Europeans, so seeing TIME pair up with SpeCial is pretty cool
Whoa Team injury for the win Didn t expect those two at all Pretty great Lineup overall :D Also there are quite a lot T+P Teams. I m pretty curious what race they think is going to benefit more from an extra set of Hands, p or t
BeastyQT plays mostly Protoss now so he and MaxPax will go for Protoss without any doubt!
Elazer+Lambo is a scary and super solid team but I think TIME+Special is one of the most interesting pairings since TIME's micro and control should match very well with Special's amazing macro and multitasking.
Byun+Maru enter the tournament as favorites, it's a pity that we didn't get Serral+Reynor at this point.
Just sad to see only pro-players in this tournament ... I think that probably a lot of players have sent their applications but take only pro-players is not great.

Giving like 2-4 spots to Open qualifiers would ve been a nice Addition, if there where indeed another 10+ signups. It s not only Pro- Players though. Unless you classify HolyHit and Highdra (Who doesn t even have a Liquipedia page) as Pro Players.

Well I m not to sure about Shadown in Clem s team. His Terran is around 5k and his Protoss is probably around the same level as Clems P.

I don't really see the problem there. Giving a chance for them to play is one thing, whether it makes for good matches is another ... especially given the not so small prize pool for a minor event.

If the lower level players want to get access to that kind of tournaments with the possible prize pools that follow, they have to prove themselves first, not the other way around. Otherwise it's not fair for those who put on the miles and who in the absolute, have more merit (regardless of the morals).

Don't think there is, but imo Terran should be best, because it offers the most obvious roles for the two players (micro and macro). The only overlap is orbitals, which are both used for scans by the micro player and mules by the macro player. Protoss overlaps much more (offensive warp-ins, who does them?), and zerg overlaps to a degree (queens are both macro and fighting units, and in archon mode you don't get as big a benefit from the ability to move-command units before they are produced).

Oh yes!! Would onlymake sense if Wardi could mute the Players to actually comentate obviously.. Also it would of course only work with english speeking Teams, but I gues that isn t going to be much of a problem
Very interesting that Clem+Shadown are playing protoss. I have head the legends of Clem's offrace Protoss, but I thought Terran would be the better choice due to more micro / multitasking potential.
edit: nvm, apparently they are playing random and just happened to roll protoss in the game I watched.

Pretty sure they are just protoss, it says random on liquipedia but they practised their games as toss and also just now played 2 toss games again. Toss makes sense as Clem has gotten pretty good with it and its Shadowns main race. Dont really think Shadowns terran is good enough to add any value besides microing a small group of units, and with a archon of just 2 players more is asked.

All Teams that are marked as Random on Liquipedia stated that they intend to Switch races. I could imagine that Clem/ Shadown Switch to Terran if they meet the Zerg Archon for example...
Current plan is to move playoffs to a replay cast, potentially RO8 30th and Finals New Years Day, still TBD. This is due to the ESL Open Cups being postponed
