Even pushing down one of Serral's hatches, fifth or fourth, to limit larva output may have been enough to tip it. Casters did a good job highlighting Serral being down to two queens and no larva there at the end.

Maybe, but all those battles were balanced on a razor edge. If you take 8 marines and a medivac out of that front battle, maybe Serral just rolls his banes all over it, and smashes it, at the cost of a mineral line worth of drones, but still, cleaning up the push would be gg regardless.

Is that really a curious combination? Seems to me that quite a few players are excellent at microing on a single location but once they have to do it several places at once they actually drop below the competition. PartinG comes to mind, and Maru too actually before his 2018 improvement.
