Scarlett ran into Serral early on in both events where she had great form. Has and Special also have collected the benefit of a broken challenger system Unlike Scarlett, who has to compete with Neeb and MaSa in the grueling Challenger NA. Well there's 4 seeds so she doesn't strictly need to compete against them. Just needs to be better than JonSnow, puCK, Semper etc

Besides, when she does come first in her group like in Austin she gets Blizzcon finalist Nerchio in Ro16 instead. You need to realize how lucky Scarlett is to play in NA qualifiers, where the competition doesn't even exist and she can qualify for the main stage vs players who will probably not even reach ro8 in EU challenger

Still better then Nice and Gogojoey Point being, the part about having much harder Challenger can also be applied to Elazer and uThermal, who missed Blizzcon. And some other EU players who pulled through.

Scarlett ran into Serral early on in both events where she had great form. so what? and if her form was that great, why was she second in her groups? Barely losing 3-2 to Serral (TWICE!) is better than any other foreigner has done this year. That kind of performance deserves more than 300/600 WCS points which is what she got for it. We see top players get upset in groups all the time but still smash the event. The events where SpeCial and Has were in good shape, they didn't meet Serral until the ro4/finals, and as a result they got 900/1400 points for it and make blizzcon. That's where luck comes into it.

Maybe Scarlett just doesn't play like a top 8 WCS player at any given time except in her matches with Serral ![]() Maybe that's the case, I have no idea if better luck would have gotten her in or not.
