I also think soO could also be favored against him if his ZvZ is in good form. Maru got dunked on hard in that team match, and no despite it being a showmatch the level of play is still very high. They are basicaly 50/50 at the point. Did he? He lost 25 workers in the early mid-game and it still went late and Serral had to use up his 5k/4k bank. it's a terran on 3 bases. losing 25-odd workers for the sacrifice of map pressure and serral's upgrades is not the worst trade. he got dunked on because there wasn't supposed to be a moment in which serral actually loses the game and the way in which he won.

Or, is Serral practising that hard? Both? Without the kespa teams its essentially an even playing field now. no it is not, because of REGION LOCK. Serral and other foreigners enjoy what Koreans do not. They can travel around the world and participate in whatever tournaments they like, the same thing doesn't apply to Korean, if they lose in GSL qualifier, that's it for the season.

This wasn't the case in the past. ![]() I'd say Serral is top 5 world for sure, but I wouldn't be so sure he can perform like today if he played the other koreans again in 1-2 weeks. Like Viper said though, the gap between Serral and the 2nd best foreigner is pretty big. Scarlett was not far away from beating him, and she also was pretty good at this event so she might be 2nd atm.

The difference between Serral and other western attemprs to breach the kingdom of Korea is that he isn't easily exploitable. He doesn't rely on any gimmicks, he is a well-rounded player. Obviously Korean-style study can help beat him, but it won't be such huge effect in his case.

I wonder where people find the information how much each progamer plays??
