Following the consensus of the public, we decided to throw down another attempt at a tournament. This time, to minimize possibility of dodging and downtime, 3 steps have been taken:
a) full round robin between all the players, before playoffs (SSL format)
b) open sign ups for anyone who wants to try their hand!
c) deadline on every match
Who are we? What is this?
LRSL is an effort of live report thread commoners of the TL.net community to get together and play some games outside of meaningless customs, with streams, terrible commentary, BO wins, TOs avoiding paying out the money and all other parts of competitive Starcraft
This is an open RR league meant to run during everyone's summer break, no actual prize involved. Just bragging rights and maybe a win noted down in a liquipedia page.
FORMAT
We are following a modified SSL premier format: round robin swiss format league, bo3, 5 rounds 1 point for each win, 1 point for a map.
Top 4 players are seeded into a SE bracket with 2 bo5s and a bo7 final, with seeds coresponding their league play placement.
Anybody can sign up this time, but I decided to cap participants at 16, because I'm lazy and won't schedule for more people.
There will be a maximum of 7 bo3 series to be played out between players each week (everybody playing 1 series a week), with a given deadline. If replays are not sent until then and neither player shows up at the deadline, a coin will be tossed instead to determine the winner.
I will try to cast all games on my twitch channel (twitch.tv/ejwoda). Maybe we will get actual real casters tho (Seeker plz <3).

eu vs kr = central
eu vs SEA = west coast
SEA/kr vs any America = west coast
kr vs SEA = korea
ABAB vetos: each player vetoes a map until enough to play bo7 is played A picks the first, loser picks next from not vetoed). Player with lower MMR starts the vetoes.
Sacred Sands [LotV] hasn't been published to KR and America yet, but all maps will be available by the time the tournament starts

2 groups should be fine with less than 12 players (5 weeks max + playoffs, we can consider taking top 2 from each group in that case), we should probably go for 3 groups in case of 13+ players (and keep only the winner of each group for playoffs).

In GSL style groups if you lose 2 matches you're out and don't get to play anymore. That's too punishing for a tournament like this.

Sure, then we need 20 players with 4 groups of 5 players, do round robin in each one and a ro8 afterwards.
That are at least 4 matches for everyone. Can also do the same with 15 but then we have three groups, 6 advance directly and 2/3 3rd places. Something along those lines

Either before it starts (so at the end of the week) or when participation is maxed out and Ej_ is unwilling to accept more. So you can still enter.

If we go swiss the number of participants should probably be even for more convenience (so cap at 14 if the maximum number of bo3 per week desired is 7). I know the last participant can be exempted and given a point but that's always felt a bit weird to me and it makes someone not play during one of the weeks.

You go colon, abbreviation of the country, then colon. So in case of Korea it would be : kr : without spaces. 
All you need to know is which abbreviation your country has on TL, but since it says you're from the States that shouldn't be too hard.
Race is the same as flags basically, colon in front and behind and then t for Terran, z for Zerg, or p for Protoss in the middle.

All you need to know is which abbreviation your country has on TL, but since it says you're from the States that shouldn't be too hard.

At that point I was the highest ranked player in EU for a good while in HotS cause nobody played it anymore. And I was actually pretty good too! Never had that time to put into LotV though

Just wanted to clarify how swiss works since you mentioned it on stream. You play people with the same record as you without playing a person you already played. Since there are sixteen people, the eight 1-0's play and the eight 0-1's play in round two. Then there are four undefeated player. After round three there will be two and after round four there will be one undefeated person who will almost automatically advance to the playoffs. Since it's top three people, 4-1 should be a lock for the playoffs. There is a possibility that one 3-2 makes it, but no more than that. Also, winning earlier in the tournament is better for the second tie breaker which is opponent match win %. Normally a 16 man tournament works best over 3 rounds and I'm used to magic where you can draw in to a top 8, but things could get extremely messy with this format.

I know, that's my biggest weakness in the matchup. I never ever feel comfortable moving out. I've had +100 supply advantages killed by ling counters and surrounds. PvT and PvP I feel a kind of rhythm to the game that just isn't there for PvZ. Not sure how to explain it other than just being bad.

I've mostly played Protoss and it's been fun honestly. I think it has potential for sure, the specific values can be adjusted later.

He didn't happen to get better opponents though. You lost the first two rounds which means you were very likely to face weaker opposition.

OMW% (another version of Bucholz) is the first tiebreaker used in magic the gathering. It's far from stupid, it's actually the most accurate way to measure strength of schedule among opponents who haven't played one another in a swiss format.

The best and worst score are discarded for Buchholz - you realistically won't end up playing anyone who finishes with a worse score than the guy you just described. Unless you just happened to play the worst player in the league in week 1. But realistically, things even out as the league goes on.

But then the 2nd worst score doesn't get discarded (which otherwise would be) so it still punishes you for something out of your control.

I don't think so. I said on stream that would be the case but I didn't realize Golo was 3-2 with 7 maps too. So, if Olli loses 2-1, since Golo would be tied with us and I won over him (while Olli didn't play Golo or Charoisaur), I'd have 1 win vs tied opponents as well and then I think my buchholz is higher.
I can of course be wrong but if all of that is correct I'm in fact locked for 4th place, meaning we would play again, and a bo5 - something I'd be looking forward to and you as well I think !

I'm never making liberators again in TvP, i've never had them be useful.
I think i need to correct Gumba a bit. I did the exact same tank push builds with the same openings vs Durn in the group stage. I did the 3-rax things vs Wire in the group stage but i figured that the tank push builds work well vs his style. And yes, they are my TvZ builds.
What comes to the games, i think games 1 and 2 just went perfect in that i got too much damage done earlygame. 3rd game could've gone either way but i got too good of an economy up and managed to get a great fight emping all his HTs in the last fight.
