Ryung vs Hurricane is a hard one to call. Itching towards Ryung though. I think Scarlett can get out of the group by beating Ryung and Hurricane, but I can't see her taking down Innovation.

Unlikely. Inno > Ryung pretty consistently. 3-0 at IEM Katowice for instance, and Inno has lost 0 of 8 games in 2017. Historically Inno wins 84% of their series and his last loss to Ryung was in 2015.
Inno advancing in first is almost guaranteed. Given his aforementioned record against Ryung, his 3-0 stomp of Hurricane in VSL Ro8, and his 4-0 stomp of soO in the VSL finals, Inno is very much the overwhelming favorite against all 3 of his Group B opponents.
The only chance for the other three is if Inno did party a lot. Winning the VSL and becoming GOAT because of that surely moves him. Nah it's gonna be a 4-0

Innovation seems more like the kind of guy who's idea of partying is staying up a half hour past his bed time and drinking some root beer. Basically like a mormon.

It's possible that he went drinking with soO, who apparently does that after he loses finals. They are best friends after all. It must be kinda awkward (for soO and Classic) to be great friends with a guy who always beats the shit outta you on the big stage tho....
Still, Inno could show up to GSL with a seismic hangover and probably still advance.
Hurricane/Ryung/Scarlett all have a roughly equal chance to take second, imo.

There shouldn't be any unit you have to counter with tempests to begin with
you can use carriers
next patch "archons gain bonus damage to mechanical flying units in siege mode"
Does it apply to lifted tanks?
Why else would they put it in?
Next patch: Viking assault mode, Thor explosive payload mode and Hellion Hellbat mode count as siege mode too. Units knocked into the air by reapers briefly count as flying.

Have you come up with a tier system complicated enough to satisfy The_Red_Viper to justify him as GOAT? Personally I'd suggest the rule: each player's rank on the GOAT chart is equal to their rank at IEM Season X - gamescom.

I briefly considered using GSL Season 3 2014 to determine GOAT since it has Cure in the top4, but putting someone like Zest in the top 4 was too unrealistic.

Solar-Dark as an archon. The series they played at the cross-finals had the best creep spread I've ever seen.

When DongTRUEGu played, one of them did everything aside of spreading creep and the other one spread the creep.
Fuck yeah Scarlett! I needed that. Had a real messy breakup with my first ever girlfriend last night. I wake up missing home wondering what the hell im doing here in Nairobi Kenya... waking up at 6:00AM because my sleep schedule is still messed up from her lag... But Scarlett's playing! Because she had to attack before Terran got 3/3 because that's always been GG vs Ling/Bane, especially now with 3 larva. She had like 2k/1k bank she couldn't spend because she had no larva.

The proxy 2rax is actually a new version that Inno has been doing a bunch recently. It's designed to force enough damage through drone pulls and lost mining time and lings that it winds up still being worth even if it fails.
He makes SCVs behind it and transitions instead of fully committing.
The banshees were critical - not only did they catch Scarlett without detection, they also scouted the spire and Inno was able to prepare and negate the mutas.
Terran's bag of tricks knows no limits. Been like this since 2010. Meanwhile Zerg has no way to punish a Terran who is ultra aggressive because Zerg can't get up a ramp until Ravagers.

Go and rewatch the game on Newkirk, then watch the two games in VSL where Inno did the same proxy 2rax. It's not the same old WoL proxy 2rax, the point is to get an eco lead while he transitions, not to win outright.

They were even before the banshees even showed up, they were just the nail in the coffin. Zerg's economy is so unstable because of 3 larva that any damage snowballs exponentially. I'd just appreciate if Zerg had any sort of way to deal early-game damage without being completely all-in, because it seems that Terran and Protoss can deal next to no damage and come out even.

You don't need to chase that far though. The marines start losing equity as soon as the initial push fails.
You don't need to but all the Zergs think it is an oldschool proxy 2rax allin so they think once they scout it they just kill the marines and insta-win.
That's the beauty behind the new strat, it's a greedy opener disguised as cheese.

LotV econ is not a new thing. This proxy 2rax is a new build. The counter (I assume) is to not overreact. Transitioning makes the cheese weaker, obviously.

After you hold the initial push and prevent bunkers from being set up the marines aren't too threatening until stim and medivacs. And with lings you can keep an eye on marine numbers.
You guys whining here definitely need to watch VSL vods last night. Inno 2raxed multiple times, every time he seemed to behind after failed cheeses, he won. Its not about balance, Inno has found a way to make that 2rax an agressive build and followable.
Well the result isn't surprising, that it was kinda close vs scarlett definitely speaks for her ZvT though. She should make it out unless she loses the ZvP.

Because it's rather completely moronic to extrapolate off a single a game (that the Z should've won anyway).

She just transitioned super slow. The game vs Innovation in Proxima, she was in a lead and kept staying in lings/banes forever instead of going to Hive and Ultra. The game vs Hurricane, she went for Spire which is great and but the waited for years to get out of corruptors. She should have built corruptors sooner and got rid of those Colossus and transitioned to BL or something. I gotta give to it Hurricane though. He didn't transition super fast to storm but gradually to charged and then storm while expanding and continue applying pressure. That was very well-played. Other Protoss should learn from that instead of going greedy and tech-up so fast and die to timing lings/banes/hydras.

How is she not cut out for gsl when you make it to code S all three seasons, and against the last bracket she had to qualify through?
She also should have won game 2 against inno, idk much, but she had the whole map and could have just sat back going to hive tech.

First, Zest is pretty much at the bottom right now so winning a match against him don't say a lot.
Second, should have won and won is two different things. Be able to close the game may be one of the things that differ a good and a great player.

This WM spread strategy against Stargate openers is such a hard counter. To be fair, Hurricane is handling it horribly.
Is it? While it's much easier to play for the Terran, I think a Protoss that's really on point (and doesn't lose oracles) should come out ahead. Such as in Neeb vs MajOr on Odyssey. Though Proxima is a better map than Odyssey for this.

If the Terran executes it properly and keeps (most of) the medivacs alive while spreading mines so that each mine needs a revelation, I don't think Protoss ever comes out ahead.
Basically a soft contain/denying mining while Terran macros behind. Works even better with proxy Factory, Inno vs Stats in SSL was a textbook example.

GSL stream has been like this ... bit rate is not high enough and always pixilated when there is too much actions going on It might be that they want to ensure a more stable stream avoiding potential hiccup. They are pushing the steam from Korea after all.
