I expected 12 Koreans and 4 foreigners to be invited, just like it was with Kespa cup a year ago. And the invites according to the ranking in each system (with the top 4 in KR already there, 5-16th place in the KR WCS, and the top 4 foreigners).
Major isn't there, and Kelazhur next in turn (Kelazhur is 5th by WCS points) explains it.

Indeed that is what they did. Kelazhur was invited already a week ago or so (so he is not the replacement). They invited 5 players from West and 11 from Korea. Not sure how they calculated the points for the players from the West vs Korea as nothing makes clear sense.

Looks to me like they just took the 16 players with the most WCS points (excluding Stats, soO, Inno and TY, and also Major since he declined) by numerical value, no differentiation between WCS Circuit and WCS KR.

Also the final qualifier on Thursday overlaps with VSL for up to 3 players (including ByuN). That doesn't seem optimal.

Open qualifiers are close to a joke. Closed qualifier is where the real competition begins. I could see one foreigner managing to sneak in (Neeb?), but no more than that.

I would guesstimate him at mid-tier Korean, on the upper end of mid. A bit higher than Scarlett. On a good day he could take a game or two against the top-tiers in a Bo5/Bo7.

You cannot say this open qualifier as a joke, these guys (so far) are still competing for only eight spots:

Z: Losira, Leenock, True, Curious, Scarlett, Gamja, PenguiN, Rex, Cell.

It's like a standard online cup roster, but yes, the true qualifier will be on 29th.
