its a big issue here. Its going to split Texas and Mexico in half. Texas was once part of mexico, and now is part of the US. so we share a lot of family names and history with the people of mexico. four people i know personally have been deported. one of them was a felon (my friends brother) so i understand that. but the other two were his parents and they had protected status (TX). a girl i dated in college was just deported as well (new jersey). thankfully my family has legal status, but when your relatives from mexico dont want to visit you because they are scared they are going to be held in Karnes County ICE centre for weeks before they are returned to their normal lives+it is discovered they had protected status, because thats the reality right now in Texas. overcrowded detention centers that interrupt normal people's lives for weeks because they simply do not have the resources to police something like this | ||
