Hm yeah that would have been glorious, but don't worry Innovation will be there next week as well Unless Scarlett takes him out. I have my doubts about that though, especially since these matches are 11 games. | ||

I really hope INnoVation won't let IEM qualifier for this... as much as I LOVE seeing him on all those matches, he has to be a Katowice (and it's kinda weird that the reigning IEM champion don't get an invitation for Katowice...) Not to worry, Inno is already one step ahead of this. He's signed up for the American and EU qualifiers xD. Inno trying to have his cake and eat it too. He's already qualified for Katowice since he won IEM Gyeonggi. Really? That would be awesome, but if that's the case, why isn't he mentioned anywhere on the Katowice wiki page? He wasn't in the official Katowice announcement either. The math doesn't add up if Inno gets an invite either, because the actual event starts with a Ro24 and all the spots are already allocated.... | ||

I think during his interview he said that he would go to Katowice, I might be wrong though, need someone from ESL to confirm that. I read that too, but I don't see how the math would work if that was the case. They lay it out pretty clearly here: http://en.intelextrememasters.com/news/all-details-for-the-250000-starcraftR-ii-tournament-at-the-intelR-extreme-masters-world-championship-katowice-2017/ 24 spots in the actual tournament. 12 from online qualifiers, 12 from offline. 12 from online: 4 online qualifiers, each sending 3 people. (Also 24 invited players seeded into the qualifer, but Innovation is not one of them). 12 from offline: Offline Ro64 qualifier broken into 4 double elimination brackets, top 12 qualifying. Since this is double elimination, that means winner/2nd of winner's bracket and winner of loser's bracket will qualify. And that makes 24. No room for any extra invites. By tradition IEM invites the champion and runner-up of its Season tournaments, but this Season XI has had 2 events, Shanghai and Gyeonggi. The four invites should then be Innovation, uThermal, Stats, and Neeb. But the latter three are invited to the qualifiers based on their WCS 2016 standings. Inno wasn't. And finally, given the fact that Innovation is almost certainly more informed, not to mention more focused/interested/concerned about this than all of us, and has signed up for all the qualifiers, I'd say its a pretty safe bet that he isn't actually getting an invite. | ||
