As of now I don't feel any satisfaction playing SC2, only frustration.
So 75 thousand people actively playing 1v1 means SC is dead?
The game is fairly old, not free to play, quite a few people still play past installments as well. Of course I'd rather EVERYBODY play Sc2 1v1, but 75k active people is pretty fucking good, in my opinion.

What on earth makes you say ByuN "DEMOLISHES those protosses"? Pretty sure Zest 2-0ed then 2-1ed (or the other way around) which REALLY isn't the same as 4-1'ing him. You know, maps and BO dynamics and stuff? And you can't really assess how good ShoWTimE PvT is compared to Zest. He used to be the best PvTer no doubt, but right now?

It probably put a lot of pressure on him, especially being the only relevant US player in years, so he won't have as much pressure to perform next time, and will keep growing stronger and stronger. He's still young with a lot of potential, but he sure hasn't figured PvZ (PvT?) as much as PvP indeed.

Compare with something similar. Does greygoo have 75K players ? Or 8bits army ? The only RTS that might have more player would be BW. (and i'm not even sure about that)

Right now he just beat ByuN 2-0 and 2-1. And that's when he wasn't in great form. He's looked a lot better at this tournament already.
There's no reason to believe his chances have gotten worse, and he won both their last matches.

Like top free to play games? Brand new shooters, Overwatch? Of course less people play the game than at launch, but 75k playing JUST the 1v1 is still a metric fuckton. It does not affect MY ability to play the game whatsoever. I've been having way more fun playing the game now than in the past as well.
Also, when you compare the active 1v1 player base to stream views major tournaments get it is simply fantastic. Stop concerning yourself with things beyond your control. Just play the game and have fun.

obviously there's not going to be as many players as in other games that are easier to get into. Most scrubs just say it's so frustrating and not very rewarding and move on to other games. But gameplay of LotV is so much better than HotS and WoL. There's a lot of people saying this. Obviously it's a matter of taste but I'm sure most people are pretty happy overall with how LotV turned out.
