It really depend on the quality of the game to be honest. I mean Classic vs Dark yesterday was a much higher level serie, and hate on protoss or not, but everyone recognize how well Zest played the final last season. Between Myungsick and Dear, we can't really say the GSL got the "best" protoss players .

I think it's really a specificity with Dear. He's excellent and builds leads pretty easily against most opponents but also relatively frequently throws those leads.

it's been a lot worse a few years ago than it is now though. Most people are actually quite reasonable

I've been seriously tempted to, partially because protoss is such a BO oriented race in general (although much less so in LoTV than Hots/WOL) since I tend to take long breaks from playing but also because the protoss hate is just really ridiculous sometimes
