I could be smartassing like "why u use no fungal" or spread lurkers to not get stormed or something like that. All those usual/obvious tips I got when I started playing SC2

I don't think it's solar making a lot of mistakes as much as it is Stats abusing Protoss to the fullest with phoenix and immortal play which works vs every non broodlord zerg army

Shit can go wrong. Maybe he move commands his entire army into lurkers with no detection.
Maybe he falls asleep or forgets that all he needs to do is turtle 3/4 base with Phoenix Immortal Archon Zealot then move out and kill the zerg before he gets Broods

idk man, burrowing the hydras, moving his entire army back to defend zealot warp in and still defend with sloppy control, hitting buildings and losing 100 hydras to phoenixes... That was not Solar.
On March 31 2016 18:48 Big J wrote: Hope that Solar can step it up a notch, really horrible strategies so far.
Solar's strategies are good the plays make sense but dealing with Protoss Mid/late game is really really hard because of the strength of the immortals
Immortals are very bad at fighting up. If you don't waste your money on shitty harass that does nothing and timing attacks into pylons you can have broodlords or Vipers instead.
i dont think its early enough to start saying imba or balance whining, but i think if anything is the problem it's the phoenix > hydra to counter phoenix > lurkers because you have hydras > immortals game flow... it's just not very interesting right now, the lurkers either pin protoss down and kill him or they just become irrelevant
i wonder if there's any legitimacy to playing a mass queen/infestor style against phoenix openers? infestors are also pretty good against immortal/zealot if you can land the fungals. that's the problem, though, is if you don't have perfect infestor control and lose any or miss fungals you literally have nothing...

you would still need lots of hydras or the dreaded broodlords to actualy deal damage.

the idea is queen/infestor to defend phoenix while you transition to hive... obviously i didn't mean "make only queens and infestors the whole game", and obviously you'd have to make fighting units if protoss did a big push
and i wasn't even saying it would work, i was just speculating because it's more useful to come up with ideas than to balance whine
Wolf that wouldn't work. What do you need to get rid of the burrowed ling? Detection. What do you find with detection? The banes burrowed in the mineral line.

Sky Toss is too strong in my opinion which is why you don't see this sort of build.
But who knows. It's not easy to get to Blord/Infestor/Queen fast enough to not die to the 9:30-11:00 Toss Push.

or crush the push hardcore enough. You don't need a lot of income for a short amount of time if you can save those ressources (and the game) by taking a better fight and retaining your units while crushing the opponents units.

You can just choose not to attack if toss goes back to his third base and contain him, you get very good position and eco lead gets too big very fast. Propably biggest mistake there was not to get storm as fast as possible, in other maps sentrys are very good idea since no ravagers with that army composition

I feel like corrosive biles take too long to deal with forcefields. They are good to deal with ramp blocks but in fight I think you need a quicker answer than corrosive.
Do you think Protoss Players do not build a lot of sentries because of the threat of ravager or the strength of immortal chargelot?

They are just very gas expensive to get and ravagers deal with it too well

Is it bad that I enjoy watching ZvZ more than PvZ in Lotv? Protoss just always goes for the same Comp, and it seems to be a question of whether or not zerg can kill toss before enough archons and immortals are out. so much for avoiding deathballs..

Well first off, that's your personal taste so that's not bad
And no, I can see it. Protoss is forced to go for the same composition every game (even if they wanted to do something else it probably wouldn't work), Zerg is generally forced into the same direction every game aswell. PvZ is the most stale matchup in LotV, these games play out way too similar often. So I can see why people would be bored from this. I mean, the best thing that happened in this series was Solar blowing up shit with banelings.
On the other hand, for every really good game of ZvZ you can find like a dozen really shitty games. It's always been like that, and it's reputation is basically forever ruined.

Maybe I just have some recency bias from Dark and Solar's game, but I feel like ZvZ is the best it's ever been. Ling Bane wars are often just transitions to roaches or mutas, and early pools aren't as fully all-in as they used to be. The hydra buff has been great at helping people deal with mutas, but the economic changes have made mutas more viable too. Late game is also very dynamic with lurkers, ultras, cracklings, broods, and infestors abound. Idk just feels like It's a totally new matchup past the initial ling-bane wars, and the wars themselves are less decisive than they used to be. I'm a happy man
Stats is already improving on his performance from last year in individual leagues. Will he reach Zest 2014 levels of dominance in the season(s) to come? (sorry, I fucking jinxed it didn't I?)
