Stats was defending early pushes with pylons/cannons I think he upgraded survivability of said buildings

Byun scanned it so I guess it must be somewhat common in korea or why would he even waste a scan there? I guess Stats had no where else to expand but idk that's weird.

You think maybe the gold base was him playing the player? Because the only major drop ByuN did this game was on the gold base after he scanned for it.
Mass expand with orbitals, make double armory for upgrades. And the unit composition should be, raven viking marine ghost and widow mines (to kill interceptors.) This style is actually not that hard to play against, korean terrans are just too aggro and try to attack with mass marine all the time.

Honestly revelation is just too strong as a spell. Cheap, last very long, safe as you can use it from a high range and has a big area of effect. It's just waaay too strong in my opinion.

Blizzard choice of merging detection and revelation is stupid IMO.
obviously byun got caught game 5, may have went differently if he was in siege mode in his base. but overall he started viking production way too late unfortunately, and when he had them he didn't force a favorable air fight. then wow those phoenix rekt the vikings which would have been pretty much gg even if his ground army had not died moments ago.

In PvT it's mostly because revelation reveals mines. In HotS you had to either detect with Oracles or tag units. Now it's merged and that's problem in early PvT, because you cannot use mines to defend vs. adepts

those phoenixes would have been all over those tanks... besides which, in the decisive fights his 3 tempests weren't even participating-- they would have been had Stats have engaged more patiently (which he didn't need to obviously)

Not surprised. Game quality in S2SL in general has been much poorer than in GSL imo. Might just be because the player field was determined back in December, before the patch and before most play styles were figured out. And also because there's been some actual top 16 players missing in S2SL

I think the only way to survive in PvT nowadays on Ulrean is too open reactor vikings.
