Go go Jin Air! If we do not win 3:0, we are practically out of Play Offs ... If we win just 3:1, we would need to win against SKT or Afreeca would need to lose or play 3:2 against MVP ...
Maru vs Dear: 50%-50% Could go both ways as Dear isn't a particularly great player, but has done well in TvP in LOTV, whereas Maru hasn't.
Cure vs Reality: 50%-50% Another close one. I think Reality generally is the better player, however Cure (somewhat) recently beat Reality 2-0.
Sos vs Journey: 70%-30% Journey is one of the worst players in SPL. He only has a good track-record vs. foreigners/low tier koreans. SOS is extremely cheese/all-inish, and Journeys win condition is to guess/prepare for the right timing attack. If he can do that, he has a chance.
Rogue vs Solar: 40%-60% Historically, Rogue has a good ZvZ, and has done well in the few LOTV matches he has played, however he has a lost a bo5 to Bly. Historically, however he has a sub 50% win/rate against top 15 players, whereas Solar has a 54% win/rate and 62% win/rate against top 30 players. Further, Solar also has performed very well in ZvZ in LOTV. The only debateable performance is losing 2 games to Ragnarok.
Ace match: Sos vs Solar: 55/60%-45/40% Sos doesn't have a good win/rate vs top players, and he hasn't really faced any skilled zerg players in LOTV, whereas Solar recently beat Classic 2-1, and has a very high win/rate in the matchup in LOTV.

I hope everyone gets hyped about Maru vs Dear, remembering the golden days of their rivalry, only to then be confronted with some grade A Ulrena bullshit.

Seens like he disappeared. Teamless, big deal in a team game. According to liquipedia anyway, its weird cause he has no matches in 2016 and yet is not mentioned as retired
I can feel Dear's pain right now. You kill all the SCVS, but the terran has mules and liberators. You brain tells you that you can win no matter what, but you can't

Dear fucked up. The push into the main where he got stuck on the ramp is what lost him the game

Yeah, I feel the pain, how could attacking up the ramp into Tanks and Liberators go wrong? How could Stalkers and Adepts not kill the high tech army?
This is a solid 4*. Not really something you want to watch if you have 20 minutes of life left, but something you should have seen if you care about SC2.
Yeah, this game was a little sad to watch as a Maru fan, because it's clear he should have lost if not for that blunder. It shows me that although Maru can still go for the throat and close out a game when he has an advantage, he's still not back to full power.
Even though Maru played well to comeback the game should really have been over had dear only stayed down Marus ramp with forcefields and continued macroing at home. I cant really fanthom what went through his head - the decisionmaking throughout this game was highly questionable from Dear.

Journey lost that fight, lost way more stuff than sOs. sOs kept all the important units alive even with most of his templar being way out of position. The game is not over because Journey has the more mobile army with drop capabilities. But he'll never be able to win a direct engagement if sOs plays it correctly

man, it's been said before, but one of the biggest problems with sky armies in an RTS is that they're invulnerable to terrain and pathing. too easy to clump up a lot of expensive powerful capital ships into something that can't be engaged.
i'm not even calling imba or talking about balance, but it's so hard to design slow air units. during beta a lot of people were talking about this.
it will never ever happen in SC2 but i really think that a separate air supply cap would be GREAT for the game. would require a ton of rebalancing though, which is why it can't happen before a potential SC3

Liberator scale very ridiculous in en masses.Without Archon and Ht you can A move vs any protoss air units without even upgrade. No matter what how good you split you still has disadvantage cause liberator will clump up like muta.HT and archon will prevent that happen.

Tempest should have been removed for ages now. I don't like taht unit and I don't know if any Protoss does.

this argument has flaws... first of all for Z matchups zerg doesn't have "capital ships," the closest thing is brood lords which can't shoot up. secondly battlecruisers are bad right now so it's not like terran can just go full capital ships too. third, it basically means that all late macro games should just become a big clump of air units drifting around, which slows down the game and makes it boring to watch
that's why i want separate air supply... capital ships should work more like the mothership, put a limit on how many you can have so it actually matters if they get sniped off

Yeah, that is true. But a pure tempest vs pure liberator fight isn't realistic, I meant that liberator heavy compositions aren't that amazing against tempest heavy compositions, assuming there are other units on the field as well
(And no, I'm not trying to say they need a buff lol)
I don't think you go into liberators vs this. Just mass marines and add ghost/viking. If you can hit the EMPS your marines just destroy the intereceptors with a move and you force the Toss to spend more gas on more templars/archons.
The problem was that Journey had no clue what sOs was doing for the longest time. If he knew faster and his extra starports come down quicker he can shut him down easy.
Skytoss never strong on it own.Even pure marine will destroy any stargate unit..... Ground AOE support is the reason why that comp so hard to beat. The model is so big, it cover HT so well.
sOs was just enjoying this game. And so was I :-) Poor journey. Of course, against any good terran, sOs could not use this style as he would be dead before any such army would be done. Good example was I think in the game against Ryung in the Kings tournament.

No no no ... tha jjakji game was different, that was an excellent choice, one of my favorite games ... but that was no tempests, it was just the unexpected use of carriers against bio. And it was in a completely different meta. But he did something very similar against Ryung in Kings of Starcraft, it was a good game, sOs won at the end, but it was not at all one sided as Ryung used the mobility and harrass and kept it for a loooong time very close.

His exection was rather poor in general I'd say. Like, all his drops were ineffectual and toward the end you could clearly see one in sOs's main was being F2'd.

Doesn't matter that there were no tempests, the game was over when jjakji attacked into storm/interceptors and died. If you let Protoss player to build one of the strongest units and don't punish him then it's really late to cry.
Glad to see Jin Air scoring 3-0 victory and sOs winning in PL and getting MVP - hopefully team's form is on a rise
Ok, so looking at current table there are 3 teams fighting for last 2 spots: JAGW 3-2 10-8 Samsung 3-3 12-12 Afreeca 2-3 8-10
there is possibility of ties between all 3 teams. My question is how are ties resolved? And as a side question which results of match between JAGW and SKT guarantee Jin Air a playoffs spot?

Ties will probably be resolved by head-to-head score (the alternative being a tie breaker match, but they didn't have those last year).
If JAGW wins at 2 maps against SKT they're 100% through. If they win 1 it depends on the tie breaker rules and Afreeca's result.

You ignored Samsung. Jin Air passed Samsung. That means all they have to do is not lose hard enough for both Samsung and Afreeca to pass them.
E.g. if Freecs win 3-0 and Jin Air loses 2-3 Samsung is 5th.
Thanks guys! Glad to hear that Jin Air do not have win against SKT to advance as it would be hard as hell with SKT current form 2-3 and 1-3 is certainly doable

Problem is T doesn't have any of these. And no, BCs with their flimsy armor don't count (they lose 3/3 to carriers and tempests 3/3/3 all day long)
