Reading it over again, it doesn't actually say what the requirements are. I guess it's something they're still figuring out. It talks about the requirements for citizens and non-citizens and says that residency requirements apply and additional residency requirements may apply for some spots. I'm guessing that if the requirements they outlined before were the exact ones that applied, then they would have referred to them specifically. But they didn't so who knows. For other WCS Circuit events (not the Championship) that are required to have these 2/2/1/1/1/1 qualifiers, it says the spots are citizenship-locked and doesn't mention residency.

For the North American Challenger tournament, only residents and citizens of North America (Canada & U.S.) will be eligible to qualify. They are residents so they are eligible. I think it should be passport qualifiers esp since the odds of them making Top8 during the championship is quite high, them being in challenger just screws over whoever gets them early on in the bracket. I think whoever is qualified for the championship shouldn't be eligible to play in challenger even tho it means less money for those players, it just doesn't seem faire otherwise when you are trying to qualify for the main tournament.

Didnt think they were residents though. They live here, but they dont have residency. They have that athlete visa as far as I know which is just a visa, and not something like a greencard which grants residency. Unless we aren't using the legal definition of residency, and rules actually mean to say that they just live here. On the topic of the challenger tournament, ESL did make a comment a while ago about how they thought challenger should take place before the qualifiers.

That'll decrease as her rank does though. She's at 828 now and top 16 cut off is at 963, but other players are also laddering so that will increase too.

If NoRegret knew he couldn't make it he should have said something beforehand. And then the next guy who thought he now had his weekend free has to clear his schedule again to make it. And what are the chances someone knows 100% they won't make it anyway? Best to just keep your spot and if you don't make it, apologize that extenuating circumstances kept you from showing up. No loss from the player. Unless the organizers are gonna pull the old "announce a rule after the fact" trick to punish a behavior that they didn't have the foresight to prevent. The point of announcing dates and times far in advance is to give players more time to make arrangements and reduce the chances of these problems occurring.

some of the hype is gone though since they are already invited based on WCS points so even if they lose this qualifer to some uber legit foreigner play (NEEB), they are still in the tournament its would be more exciting if Neeb beating Polt, actually meant that Polt might be out ya know

Yeah it's literally impossible to scout unless the protoss can somehow see the overlords leave/morph. Neeb was super close to seeing it, but once it's in your base with queens down it's GG, especially when Warp Tech isnt finished and is cancelled. But that would only really be the case on Ulrena since toss cant air scout the air space.

It is also the only matchup that stays consistent when compared to WCS EU (58.8%), while the other two non mirrors are basically opposite (!) And ye I know it means nothing about balance or anywhere similar because of the super small pool of games. Still kinda fun to check this stuff from time to time.

That way it's harassment potential is lowered since more time to react to liberators and less shots will go off in attempt to kill it with queens/stalkers, and it will compensate for the terrible state mech is currently in vs zerg. Idk, I'm not a balance genius. Take this as you will :p Wow, someone think similar to me. I especially like this suggestion because it makes it easier to differentiate it from the tank as it gives the Liberator a huge overkill whereas the Siege Tank could be buffed by increasing its attack speed.
