Polt/viOLet shouldn't be eligible so they're just laddering to deny others?

Why shouldn't they be eligible?
Both got a permanent visa and live in the USA.

Are the requirements different from the passport qualifier for WCS Circuit events?

I have a question what happens to the spots that Hydra/viOLet/Polt/SelecT/PiG/PiLiPiLi are taking since they can't participate in the passport qualifier???

He played protoss last season and had over 400 games played.

This page says it's citizenship-locked.

I think the reason viOLet/Polt/Hydra are playing the na ladder is because of that 100 win requirement each month that was announced with the WCS changes i could be wrong doe.

Reading it over again, it doesn't actually say what the requirements are. I guess it's something they're still figuring out. It talks about the requirements for citizens and non-citizens and says that residency requirements apply and additional residency requirements may apply for some spots. I'm guessing that if the requirements they outlined before were the exact ones that applied, then they would have referred to them specifically. But they didn't so who knows. For other WCS Circuit events (not the Championship) that are required to have these 2/2/1/1/1/1 qualifiers, it says the spots are citizenship-locked and doesn't mention residency.

I got an official response. Polt Violet and Hydra are eligible

For the North American Challenger tournament, only residents and citizens of North America (Canada & U.S.) will be eligible to qualify.

They are residents so they are eligible. I think it should be passport qualifiers esp since the odds of them making Top8 during the championship is quite high, them being in challenger just screws over whoever gets them early on in the bracket.
I think whoever is qualified for the championship shouldn't be eligible to play in challenger even tho it means less money for those players, it just doesn't seem faire otherwise when you are trying to qualify for the main tournament.

They should of did regional challengers for all regions before the other qualifiers in my opinion would be the best for the players.

Didnt think they were residents though. They live here, but they dont have residency. They have that athlete visa as far as I know which is just a visa, and not something like a greencard which grants residency. Unless we aren't using the legal definition of residency, and rules actually mean to say that they just live here.

On the topic of the challenger tournament, ESL did make a comment a while ago about how they thought challenger should take place before the qualifiers.
