Aw maaan! PvP... ok I can live with that. But PvP without Tastosis? When will they be back from Poland. What are they doing nowadays anyways? Almost no coverage from them anymore. The reason I started watching SC2 eSport Coverage and the onle ones that could get me going through 2014 (PvPvPvPvPvZ).
I am so tired of wolf, calling himself a SC2 expert, but having no clue about the game sometimes, misreading it so hard. He should go back commenting on ppls hair, he seemed to remember that better than build orders.
Also I am still mad at Flash for the last engagement vs Gumiho. I like both, but I would be more excited for a Flash game today.
What ever happened to Dear? I remember two years ago (?) he was he was looking like such a monster but then he almost disappeared. Did he have an injury or something?

Dead serious. After a coach tells him to keep DT's in mind, chances are high that Dear will pull out another strat and the Classic falls to that. Then he needs coaching again, but alas, then it is too late.

It's not like Classic doesn't know that he should "keep DTs in mind" either. It's vital to PvP.

Strange how Dear managed to build a DS, tech to Blink and build a Nexus, and not be overwhelmed by Classic's stalker advantage. Normally there should be a mini base trade-ish situation. Classic's superior stalker army should be enough to take out the Dear's Nexus and the game stabilised somewhat, but that didn't happen. Classic played poorly there.

I really think he could have killed the nexus had he not backed away so early

Classic wasn't mining for a while, went for robo and double observers and blink himself. The actual difference isn't that huge and Classic was few hits away from killing the Nexus.

Yeah, just YOLO the stalkers in, even if they take damage from the Dear's few stalkers, overcharge and defensive DT. He would probably be behind anyway, but not as even more behind if he didn't kill the Nexus.

There's even a possible 3 way tie!
When Revival and Nani was tied for 16th, they played a bo5 for the spot.

If they're even they'd do the tiebreaker match again like 2013 I guess. Unless they've changed it since then.

Also don't forget that DreamHack Stockholm is still coming up - both could collect points there.

lol..I was talking about how Classic's 2014 and 2015 seasons seem parallel . he has some slump between winning season 2 and blizzcon, then he makes a deep run when we all least expect it.

It detracts a bit from the experience. But it's more interesting to watch the games with commentary than without any

both of them are extremely bad IMO, no clue about the game sometimes just stating what is so obvious. Not reading into it in any ways. Wolf often times stating that he basically can only play protoss cheese, that is how good his game understanding is.

Ah well, they can't see all, as another example -> Valdez said that "Byul still needs to confirm if there is a second gas" - while he saw the first gas still being constructed and a factory that was ready. So there had to be a second gas.
both of them are extremely bad IMO, no clue about the game sometimes just stating what is so obvious. Not reading into it in any ways. Wolf often times stating that he basically can only play protoss cheese, that is how good his game understanding is.
I miss Moonglade, where is he, a Zerg is playing. I miss Tastosis
Moonglade has bad calls too :-) And I think all of them are getting better.
Aside from Ty killing Byul with that timing attack in PL, when was the last time a Bio player beat a zerg in Korean level TvZ? Just seems like a waste of a map to go bio if your mech is much better.
Mass mutas is so strong, if you ever lose your army and don't have a Thor and some mines, the zerg can basically do whatever he wants. Ok I am pretty sure Flash would have done batter that game. So Gumi, show us that the right one advanced

Tasteless - the king of generic statements - his army is at the production facilities of his terran opponent, this is bad!!!

No idea, it's weird. Used to be that Zerg got killed loads of times with the 3/3 parade push against 2/2

But MoonMoon does a way better job at explaining what happens in the game (not on the screen, but in the game) and in the head of the players. The thinking and decision process. And also he adds when he isn't sure, while Wolf always says his things as if it is a fact and that is, when he is obviously misreading a situation. And no, I don't think they are getting better. I especially watch Wolf making these mistakes ever since his very first cast. It also bugs me, that he always explains the game as if I just started playing SC2. This is the GSL, it has only a few viewers and that is because 99% of them know what they are dealing with and want to see the best of the best, not some SC2 firsttimers

From what I see, it's mostly that Zergs are really really safe these days. It's really hard to kill them with Hellbat timings for example, compared to before. Also, they've been going 2 base mutas (while producing a lot of queens to be safe vs hellbats) in most of their game, and while it delays their upgrades, it gives them A LOT of map control and denies the Terran's map control, so they can play greedy after a not so greedy opening. The additional queens can also spread creep once the hellbat threat is gone, making fights very easy. So mostly, Terrans have no way of putting pressure (or haven't found it yet) to zergs, and zergs play greedy while putting pressure on the Terran (with mutas)

If you focus on it you'll hear every little mistake, ruiining your viewing experience, hard to undo though. Maybe try and laugh about it?

I will try to. Nice Tip. But it still may bug me since I'd rather hve someone cast the game that has a clue.

it is his constant misreads and not understanding how TvZ works. Or the game in general. Watch all the latest games of him, and everytime before a big fight he says "I like his position..." only that "his" position was far worse and it was a losing, game ending fight.
Or maybe he meant the map, since its one Gumiho really likes with mech

I think he was dead no matter what tbh. Feels like the queen-roach opening ByuL did is a great counter vs the passive mech opening of Gumiho (no big hellion-banshee play). Nice bo choice.

What is this new joke "Flash should have advanced, the series would have been so much better"? Is it because Wolf thinks Flash is at his absolute peak atm? I dont get it :/

IMO if Flash advanced he would have took 3 hours longer to lose, with his great wall of missile turrets

tbh I dont thing current Flash would have lost 0-3
And Flash being at his peak was such a moment, when the other caster made a pause cause he obviously wanted to say "just stfu wolf"
Gumiho's 2 5 orbital commands into 3base timing attack makes no fucking sense. If you want to go for a timing attack, then invest those minerals into Hellbats and go for a faster attack. If you want to get 5 orbital commands, you should just turtle.

I expected it somehow. Gumihow is a guy who surprises with builds sometimes but not with game control. He is often times very sloppy, I wondered how he could advance over flash, but then again this was flash throwing the game(3) and a BO loss in game 1.

Precisely, what we saw in Gumiho's games against Flash was that he had a better "game control" than Flash.

I agree. Gumiho is good at throwing opponents off with wacky builds, but his overall play is not solid. Inno, TY, Dream and Maru are all solid players - yes, they may die due to silliness and stubbornness at times, but in the long run, they'll still win more games against top players than Gumiho ever will.
Flash, to a lesser extent, is solid. And his overall results are historically slightly better than Gumiho (winning IEM and SPL record). But on current form, they are probably very close in terms of performance. I won't give any player the edge, but will raise an eyebrow if anyone says that Gumiho is by far the superior player between the two.

well the triple tie breaker dream is dead lol, but Lilbow isn't 100% yet, Dear, Fantasy, sOs, and Rogue can still pass him in about a 1 in a million chance lol
I've a feeling, though, that Dear will give Byul a tough fight. From today's and his last few games, he's prone to try out novel builds and play a lot of mind games. Byul is more than capable in handling Protoss bullshit of course, but he won't have the luxury messing up the heads of solid players. I expect a pretty wonky battle. Could even be a total beating by either one.

So, with the logic of Sir Terry (Pratchett) I think it will happen (I think this was mentioned in the book Guard! Guards!)

Flash is cursed in GSL. Watching his games against Bogus and Gumiho you really have to question logic and reason itself. It's a very sad story.

The fatigue of ByuL still being playing in the two leagues can play a role also.
Dear scrappily tearing his way through hard opponents, is he going to pull a 2013 again ?
ByuL convincingly showing he belongs to the best players of the planet atm. He'll be a tough opponent for Dear especially if he wins S2SL, momentum can make you do incredible things in SC2.
I also picked both of these guys to win. Stoked. The only reason I went with Dear is because of Classic's poor form against Zest and the vast amounts of tape out there because of the insane amount of PvP's he has played in the last few months.
I was impressed with Dear's play other than a couple strange decisions. That last game where he had all the stalkers was sick.

aha? Did you see other games? In Game 1 he made a game winning early attack (which I meant with openers/builds), in Game 2 Flash controled the game and won, in Game 3 it was sloppy from both, noone controlling since flash constantly made it possible to drop and do damage to Gumiho. Losing the final battle was a bit stupid

The early game defense of ByuL was good. I liked his deflection of early drops with good positioning of 3 or 4 queens targeting medivacs before it could actually drop anything. It goes with a good scouting and knowledge about where drops are landing in general. Then ByuL made good choices of unit composition against mech and even delayed the production of units as much as possible to make it impossible for the mech terran to tailor its army. In one game, ByuL was waiting on 130 supply against a maxed out terran before building ≈ 30 mutalisks. Killed almost efficiently the thors and vikings before wrecking the tanks and hellbats.

Yeah, that last game was just damn good, where Byul floated resources and waited before committing his supply to mutas (a strategic style similar to Zest - people mock him for floating resources, but he's intelligently waiting to build the right composition). Then there was a game where he nydus contained Gumiho's 3rd and spread creep right at the Terran doorstep - utterly brilliant.
Overall, Byul was solid all round, and Gumiho just fell apart without putting up much of a fight worthy of (supposedly) the world's best meching Terran

I think Gumiho came to the series with a build where he quickly builds two additional CCs that apparently wasn't suited at all to counter ByuL's builds. Sometimes, the metagame is a difficult science.

Flash threw that series away with a combination of unluckiness and stubbornness. There is no doubt that he would have a much better shot at beating ByuL. Anyways. There is a new tournament he plays in in a few weeks so be prepared for the next journey of the Flash hype train. It never stops. I for sure am getting ready.

Going fast 3cc against Byul has nothing to do with metagame. It's just being stupid, Byul is the new Life. He will punish greed
It was fast 5cc. In game it didn't feel like ByuL was punishing greed, since Gumiho was more the offensive player. But obviously the build choice didn't work for Gumiho. Maybe it was just stupid maybe it was really a midgamey metagamey thing that didn't work.

I won't believe it until he shows up to the finals
ByuL has an awesome chance of proving himself this season. If he can ride some momentum with a S2SL victory, he could very well be unstoppable. I think that guy deserves it, such a hard working and humble player.

Did you watch Gumiho today?
Gumiho was on a 24-4 run vs Korean Z's going into this set. I'm a massive flash fan but there's no way in hell he had "a much better shot"
