My problem is not that Dark out, it is that a foreigner making it to Blizzcon!

why? just for the sake of the game you can see how important it is to have an underdog/foreign representation. just for the storyline alone. plus I want to see lilbow pull some french PvZ on korean zergs (besides Life k).

Why you ask? You saw the 3 seasons of GSL and SSL? You saw how many great games there were? Blizzcon is like the crown to these games as it filtered the top of the top. Now we get some foreigner just to fuck things up there and ruin the quality of the games!

I care for the quality over underdog / foreigner hype BS.

meh even from the Korean regions the absolute best players aren't even playing. there is no soO, Stats, or even all killer TY based on recent form. kespa cup is pretty much the same in terms of a 2-3 day event with the best possible quality of games. And it's not like lilbow would be hopeless when he's playing herO of all people in a PvP.

In 2013 maybe. the gap is huge and it is very real

of course the gap is huge. you can throw all the prime players like Keen and B4 into WCS and they would do pretty well. Byun could win the whole thing or just pull a hitman and drop out after every RO32.

KeSPA must be never letting Hydra back in by allowing a Toss abuser into Blizzcon....

Jokes aside, Lilbow's play-style is as annoying as hell (up there with Myungsik). Sure, foreigner underdog storyline is great for Blizzcon, but it disgusts me knowing he makes it at the expense of many other better talented and hard-working Koreans.

Hydra, you really suck. You've let down your comrades.

I know it's cool to hate Huk now but he's more accomplished than any of these. Idra, Huk, Naniwa, Stephano is the correct list.

wtf the only time IdrA ever performed well aside Koreans was when he 4-0ed RorO and Stephano and made it remotely close vs Rain.

What about this? http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Orlando

Boxer x2, Hongun, Bomber, and close series against Marineking and MC.

We shouldn't just forget our foreign heroes and pretend this stuff never happened just because they were BM on ladder.

ehhh Hydra has been performing across multiple tournaments this year, Blizzcon rewards entire year, not last season. Honestly, if we took current form only into account, Life wouldn't make it either.

I know he deserves it. But if he plays all his matchups at this level then he is just getting 3-0ed anyway. Recent form should be good to have as many good games as possible. This was hopefully just a blackout so he performs better again..

well off the top of my head there were the early GSL runs, + the GSL run where he should have advanced into RO4 over Jinro if it wasnt for bad soundproofing and a single gay little marine

then there was MLG Orlando where he beat Boxer, Hongun and Bomber before narrowly losing 1-2 against MC in the semis

Then there was the IEM where he beat Revival and Puma to win the tourney

This is all correct but I just wanna elaborate on your Jinro point, that would have made it 2-2 so Jinro might have advanced anyway.

Blizzcon shows the difference between the Lifes and the jjakjis.

The good news is that this drastically decreases our chances to see mech in this tournament.
I bear this sig to commemorate the loss of the team icon that commemorated Oversky's 2008-2009 Proleague Round 1 performance.

The list doesn't have to be limited. Leaving Jinro out is hilariously ignorant.

Not to be disrespectful of Jinro's achievement, but the only thing he can claim after his GSL's runs is the Clash of the Titans and all of that were in a meta where zerg simply didn't exist yet. And his win against Idra in GSL was paired with soundproof issues and the most terran favoured maps of all time.
Slightly related, but Huk's the only player who won me out of his sheer consistency... it took me two years to realise I was willingly closing my eyes when "hating" him.

And his other GSL run was beating MC who was fucking dominant. With thors. On Scrap station.

But yea having Idra or Huk and not Jinro is ignorant. Idra has 2 championships (MLG/IEM) to Jinro's 1 IIRC. And then Jinro has the greatest foreigner placement in GSL and coming within 1 game in countless code A qualifiers from being the first.

Jinro fell off harder but was much better than idra
