e: hmm why can't regular users add stream in calendar? doesn't help that neither twitch or azubu stream is featured on the side bar

I would be totally excited if one of the casters could be Artosis or Tasteless. I find the mix of these guys(Valdez/Moonglade/Wofl + Tasteless or Artosis) too good to be true

Rain was pretty lucky to not get PvP, his worst match-up by far. But it's certainly not easy.

So what happened in the midgame here: with Rain having the blink advantage, Dear can't really move out at all. That and Dear's third nexus SCREAM defensive tech/economy play from Dear. In that spot, you can usually skip army production in favor of faster tech as Rain (he went straight up to colossi, was upgrading and teching -> you do that when you're safe, NOT when you're expecting an attack).
Dear however did nothing of the sort, there was no defensive economy/tech from him at all, he never saturated the third nexus, got counterblink instead of colossi and made tons of stalkers to catch Rain off guard with a midgame timing. It's a risky mindgame and I think it failed because he a) scouted the third from Rain too late, and b) showed counterblink too early, then took a bad fight as well.

He lost 2 immortals being too active on the map, although they were traded for a ton of stalkers. Then he didn't tech up to colossus and decided to do some weird 6 gate blink immortal attack.
It was weird and didn't make much sense imo, but certainly fun to watch.

In the early game, Dear lost his immortal lead just by being too aggressive. When you hold a committed blink attack and they expand, you can do a big counterattack with 3-4 immortals, which is really really strong. Dear was faking that with the moveout to get Rain to make more units (which Rain did), then Dear should have just gone home. Instead he stayed at the rock tower and took a really bad fight, no idea why.

Yes, Rain's engagements are really superior. Don't see how Dear or Myungsik can cope with him straight-up. Funny how his PvP is supposedly bad - or so some have been saying of late.

I actually liked Dear's thinking this series, he looked like the smarter player to me, at least on the fly. But his execution was pretty lackluster and he made crucial mistakes when it mattered.

I felt the same way too. Dear had the better strat both games. Somehow, Rain managed to overcome the deficit and win with superior micro and execution. As much as I like Rain, I think he got off rather lucky there. Dear dropped the ball.

I disagree. In G3, Dream tried to poke the front, but it didn't work. In G2, Dream tried some desperation drops, which Rain shut down hard - the positioning of Rain's stalkers were truly star-sense. In both games (and even in G1), Rain took an early lead, and Rain's defence was impeccable. From what I remember from Rain's game against Maru, Rain also demonstrated solid defensive skills.

Yeah, it's not like he had the game won or anything, but it's still a much better idea to build a nexus than to run up a ramp against two bunkers filled with marines

His recent results are quite good though, which was mostly what i was talking about.
Decent results in SSL and Kespa Cup and GSL season 2.
I don't know, but i think he is overall pretty good, but makes stupid mistakes which cost him already won games^^

Dream is a player who really confused me in general, honestly. I have nothing against him and he's obviously done really well, but when I watch him play, I feel like I have no idea what makes him special. I had a feeling from him about like I had from many past champs who have since fallen through the cracks, and I actually don't even know exactly why I feel that way.

wow embarrassing for Dream yeah. Even more embarrassing for SKT1 if you ask me, his preparation was just God awful. With only one match-up in which you're already quite good to prepare and arguably only players below you or of equal caliber, not going through is just professionnal misconduct. Dark also didn't make it out of his all terran group in SSL S1, and ZvT is Dark's best Matchup, while For Dream, it's actually TvZ, not TvP, it's quite understandable Funnily, this only happens to SKT players??? His TvZ skills are vastly overrated for some reason that continues to elude me. Dream is a player who really confused me in general, honestly. I have nothing against him and he's obviously done really well, but when I watch him play, I feel like I have no idea what makes him special. I had a feeling from him about like I had from many past champs who have since fallen through the cracks, and I actually don't even know exactly why I feel that way.
He opens very greedy very often and then just macros and micros superb.

It's good that he is mixing in more cheese. Being too predictable is a liability. Maru is known to mix in things like 11/11 from time to time. Rain is doing the same sort of thing. Unexpected play can be powerful, and the goal is to win, after all.

But it's weird, like... I don't feel like I've had that moment of "holy crap, how does he have that much stuff?" or "damn, it's like each of those marines was controlled by an AI!". You know what I mean? I haven't had that "shit, this guy's amazing!" moment.

His MMM-Thor v muta-bane-ling micro is jaw-dropping and a joy to watch - those marine splits and Thor pickups. That's how he wins sick engagements against Life - who has arguably Top 3 army control - even with a supply deficit.
Sad to see Dream bowing out so early. Then again, his nemesis Life is out as well, so maybe they're like "Yawn, see ya in Blizzconn, mate".
Super glad that Rain advanced. His series with Dear was close. Everyone was ridiculing his PvP prowess, but I saw it as a mere blip and fancied him the favourites to advance from the group (well, anytime a Korean loses to a foreigner in a Bo3 group match series, everyone loses their mind, goes full swagbro and exiles the said Korean to slump city). Doubt the Rainjwa at your peril!
Also, it's funny seeing how some people are now demonising Rain for being gimmicky by proxying. Geez... When the guy macros, he's called out for being boring. When he does smart timings, he's called out for being cheesy. What does Rainjwa have to do to win our respect and adoration? Or rather, what does have a Protoss have to do win mass respect and adoration?
And then I see a player of Myungsik calibre making out into RO8 (again), and I can understand people's hatred against the Protoss race. Sigh...
