Yeah, that second game was the best ZvZ I've seen this year, and the map looks fabulous too. Kind of inspired by Heartbrake ridge [from BW], at least the main and natural. I want more maps that spread horizontally like that.

That still doesnt form a fair opinion of a player imo. If you had seen him recently you would have watched alot of nice macro games. Hell alot of the games of the year come out of qualifiers. Life went for 16 speedlings very early to hit a crisp timing appx. when 2 hellions pop. Lings surrounded and killed bunker and did economic damage in the natural.
Innovation sent a banshee to life's main but life killed it with 3 waiting queens + overseer and some nice stutter micro.
Life went muta and did some harass in Inno's main and then geared up a ling/bane/muta attack at the 3rd while clearing a few mines expertly. There are really people that like Mech games? I feel like there's nothing even remotely as boring as mech TvZ - and the SH-nerf hasn't really made the games more interesting. We had no fights before the nerf, we have no fights now, because the moment the Zerg attacks he's... well... fucked. Before the nerf at least the locusts fought - now nothing is fighting at all :-/

Mech is by nature a very defensive style, thus there are few exploitables timings if the terran play it right and is willing to turtle, which this map allow particularly.
I also enjoyed a lot mech games vs swarm hosts, or lategadme swarm hosts vs protoss. The difference is that before they were at least balanced, all the races could win. Right now, both lategame mech and super-late game protoss are just unbeatable, so I don't enjoying watching a game I know for sure how will end.

i have seen quite a few terrans losing in tvz lategame so it's by far not unbeatable. inno just played perfect in this game.

i think 1 nydus wurm + 2 nydus exits instead of vipers is better... put 1 exit near the 3rd, 1 exit in the terran's main (use muta's to defend it while it's getting up) and then bounce back and forth between the 3rd and the main... terran is spread pretty thin at that time *shrug*

Interesting... Nydus Worm the main isn't a bad idea. Although, I think the vikings could get back in time... but that's why you have the mutas there... I wouldn't mind seeing a slight buff to Nydus Worm build to help counter super Turtle.

Mech doesn't need to be "fixed," Life needs to be more dynamic with his gameplay. I've watched nearly all his televised games vs T and they show no signs of burrowed banes vs bio or drop/nydus vs mech. That last game was a prime example. The middle is locked down by mech, so why not drop in his main, and then drop at his bottom left base?

Terran is underpowered, period. The only reason we see ANY Terrans at all in premier league round of 16's is because they are so insanely talented comparatively. They can only go so far with the weakest race.
Keep in mind, Terran isn't hugely underpowered, just slightly. But at the top level that's enough to make all the difference.
Just my opinion, of course. And that isn't to say the best playes of other races aren't hugely talented either, just that if there was only one race that the terran players would perform the best in my opinion, with the insane amount of multitasking and micro required to succeed at the highest level.

It was SUPPOSE TO BE for Melee. But the gods didn't play well and the games were honestly meh. Bo3 didn't help that.

mech has always been broken vs zerg and only swarm host and the honor of terrans has prevented it from being seen for this long. the combined upgrades are a joke.
Life's ZvT against top players in the late-game seem weak, whether against bio (Dream) or mech (Inno). He excels best and win most games by early game all-ins or pressure.
Dark, soo and Byul are able to cope with top Terrans better, from early to mid to late. They're great in mixing things up. Maybe that's why they fare better than Life (who's more one-dimensional in the current meta).
Though Inno's mech look abusive as hell in this series, I'm not sure if it's imba vZ. Inno's TvT mech looks pretty strong too, and he's able to take games even when behind (e.g. recent game against Flash). I think Inno's mech is just a cut above the rest, at the moment.
