Lately my only reason to listen to the PL casts is to not have the "akward silence". The information level is so low it is not really worth it otherwise

Well on ladder if i see no expansion, 3 gates, 2 pylons, 2 gases taken and no oracle I instantly freak out about DT's and ...bam... 3 turrets all over the place+ Raven......then of course GG cause it's a blink all in.

yeah the play by play is decent enough so that i can follow what's going on when i'm not looking at the screen but otherwise it's pretty meh.
they are also resorting to too much of the "i can see him tilt" or "i can see it in his eyes" type commentary which is usually full of shit and not informative at all.

Yup. Observing/production tabs are good enough to see everything i need to see. I feel like last year the casting was better, but maybe that's not true. I know they try to and have to build tension and excitment but it is just really wierd when they do their 180 degree turn-around in opinions every minute

A lot of casters just talk for the sake of it, I'd rather have them shut up and let us think they're idiots.. than open their mouths and leave us in no doubt. Moonglades ok, but what one caster says guides the other.

That'd be really stupid. If you burn the studio down they can't play games. Just abduct Tastosis.
I'm so happy i finally see a Zerg that rather forfeits the natural and plays from behind than trying to safe the natural while knowing he will fail and die

What an irritating way of playing from Bravo, I really thought he was gonna loose, but I guess his goal was to have 190 army and 10 workers before pushing
LOL with the mule drop. Bravo played like shit and ONLY won because of his cheesy opening, otherwise Rogue was constantly outplaying him, making the most of his bad situation and playing Bravo like a noob.

So what? Some players drop manner MULEs all the time, even if they are losing It will win a game once and then all the laughers will be like "what an excellent move!"

Also if Bravo is presumed to be weaker player his best bet is to gain an early advantage, right? Blame Rogue for not being ready/handling that better if you want to complain of something.

Well he's one of the best TvP and TvT players in the world and has admitted that he's been struggling with Zerg the most recently. Unless you have a PvT or TvT god Zerg is totally your best option.

Why do you do this to your team Stork? Does he send out Solar so Solar can try to redeem himself in some spectacular fashion but fails every time and loses the team another match? Solar needs to be benched for like the rest of the Proleague season. Sending him out just ensures a loss for Samsung, especially for a crucial ace match. I just don't get why they keep trying like this.

He's letting Solar accumulate more and more losses so when he finally does win a game it will be a near cataclysmic event.

Or he wants Solar to hold this consecutive loss record.

Or he simply expected Maru and Solar had a snipe build ready. Not mentionning that Dear was not in a very good day.
In the end, Samsung lost all their ace matches this year, 3 for solar, 2 for dear, so it might just be they don't have an ace at all...
I feel Samsung could go from a middling team to a good team on two conditions. Dear returning to form, right now he's hit-or-miss, and they need to stop playing Solar. If Solar returned to form, I bet Samsung would be making playoffs every round, but right now they need to stop sending him out, especially during crucial ace matches.

They need most of all a performing ace player.
I think they should give one of their terran players a chance at an ace match.
By the way with his win Maru almost secured himself a spot in KeSPA Cup. Taking the ranking they showed during the broadcast, it seems this time they'll only consider round 3 (and no playoffs) for seeding. Realistically, fighting for spots would therefore be:
Maru 5-2 soO 4-0 Life 4-2 Zest 4-3 GuMiho 3-0 HerO 3-0 DRG 3-1 Bomber 3-2 Flash 3-2 (3 win guys basically need ace match wins though to be certain)
Stats and INno (both 3-1) not fielded this week so out of luck (I guess if INno wins an ace match and soO loses against Myungsik INno could tie with him).
Not sure what happens if there's a tie by the way.
Stork was a great BW player but I question his coaching decisions... I've questioned them for a long time and Solar for ACE doesn't help any. There are so many better choices there. You're playing on a map that sucks for Terran yet you know you're facing either Maru (despite the map because he's that good) or Rogue... and you choose Solar? Why would you do that? He has a worst shot at taking down Maru (even on this map) and Rogue in a ZvZ (Solar's worst match up). It just doesn't compute. Yes, I know he used to be good but he isn't anymore. I can understand giving one of your old-star players more shots than they probably deserve because you're sentimental and want to break them out into what they used to be. We see this all the time with MVP and MarineKing but come on... There has to be a breaking point where you say "Okay you've lost almost every single game you've played... if you want to get TV time, you'll have to earn it like everyone else". You ESPECIALLY don't play a guy like this in an ACE match and ESPECIALLY don't play them when your playoffs are on the line. It's just poor poor decision making. Even if he wins that match I'd disagree with the pick unless he has a super-snipe build which I don't see happening on this map ZvT vs Maru and especially in a ZvZ.
While I'm on this topic, why don't you send a guy like Hurricane out more? This guy is on the rise being solid in Proleague (especially by Samsung standards) and qualifying for the Sbenu Starleague S2 just a couple months back showing great games (I saw them all and this guy has some serious talent) including a 3-0 on Rogue and 1-2 to Maru. Even he seems like a much more viable option than Solar here.
Granted, I'm not in the team house and see how everything is going but from where I'm sitting, Samsung needs some better decision making. I love Stork, I've met him and he's a super nice guy but when you're a coach you really need to do what's best for your team's results. That's how you keep your sponsors happy and guess what, if you're team is winning your players will be more driven and happy as well.

Honestly, I also sometimes wonder why Solar was sent out. I'm sure that it's due to internal rankings. I haven't been able to watch the games, but were they usually his opponent reading him, or is Solar not as good as he used to be?

I wouldn't say Solar is worst than he used to be. He looks the same but that's a problem. As a game progresses and gets older, the community naturally gets better. I would say he's just been surpassed and is now far worst in comparison to his competition as a whole. I don't know if he just doesn't theorycraft enough, practice things outside his comfort-zone, or what the problem is but he seems to have just not changed and everyone else has naturally gotten better and surpassed him. He is also just a super predictable player and that's a problem in Korean league formats where you prepare for your opponent. Foreign tournaments you can get away with it because it's like playing the ladder (numerous opponents/matches in a day) but in Korean tournaments, you can't get away with being overly predictable and never evolving. Not one bit.
On June 23 2015 03:04 G5 wrote: Stork was a great BW player but I question his coaching decisions...
Stork alone does not make the ace decision though. There is an actual coaching staff and even though Stork is a part of that as a playing coach, he does not make the ultimate decisions by himself.
