And one thing that really bothers me about the SPL casters is that they forget things a lot, even if they happened in the same week, and that they are a bit too extreme, e.g. saying someone was smashed in a one-sided game even though it was super close.

sure, tastosis has been coasting on past glory for at least a year. Their understanding of current meta is not where it should be for a premiere casters. Early game chit-chat seems forced and not funny. Tasteless doesn't bring anything to the cast. He only repeats what Artosis says (has been doing that for years). Their protoss bias is sickening. I'd rather listen to casters who's passion gravitates towards the game and not the paycheck

I mean, Valdes isn't the biggest SC2 expert either. And one thing that really bothers me about the SPL casters is that they forget things a lot, even if they happened in the same week, and that they are a bit too extreme, e.g. saying someone was smashed in a one-sided game even though it was super close.
Still better than tasteless and Valdes is a lot more likeable too imo.

I think Myungsik's response might have worked if he cut probes a bit earlier, maybe around 22 or so. But is it really that bad to just 1 base against this?
One of Dark's greatest strengths is that he's not only a great macro player but he'll also try to cheese the hell out of his opponents every now and then.
Not gonna lie I really miss KT.Myungsik. Despite how badly TRUE embarassed him Myungsik just seems like such a chill guy. Has a great attitude about his defeats as well. I hope he turns into a true stud for SBENU.

Infestor nerfed too, make infested terrans useless, Fungal made 45 dmg vs stalker, now 30 only, and it was instant, now a projectile, so instead of countering blink, they now get countered by blink.

The thing is that a lot of colossi, storms, some gateway units and a bunch of air units hidden under a mothership require a lot of corruptors to beat (because fungals are shit), so your ground army will be small. Pre-patch Zerg could compensate with free units.

haha no the reason protoss doesn't build colo is because they don't need to without SH. Stalker immortal sentry trades really well vs anything zerg has in the mid to lategame

Protoss were getting mass tempests because of Swarm Hosts. Usual "turtle" build is mass spore & 20ish swarm hosts with pulls into the defense. You cannot fight this with void rays or carriers, so tempests, because of range

Right, but that is what they are doing today but replace Swarm Host with Brood Lord. What has changed? The only thing I see that has changed is the fact the the poor Zergs can't defend against mid game pushes as easily any more.

protoss was getting 6+ tempests vs sh + mass static D, not vs broodlord comps (i wasnt active during the sh era but im pretty sure no one was going bl anyways)

All 5 years of Starcraft 2 I wondered why ffs were such a hated spell... I now full heartedly agree with Zergs. And I play Protoss. That shit was nasty. Not only does it make the game a snooze fest to watch, it destroys any ounce of 'skill-difference'. Looks like I know how to play ladder now. I don't know what people are going on about Broodlords. People tried them early in HotS, since they were so used to using them in WoL. There's a reason they completely fell out of the metagame, because they were hard countered in HotS by Ravens and Tempests. The Tempest nerf is not big enough to change anything, they still hard counter BLs.

Myungsik identified Dark wasn't teching up further and was putting all in "defend now"(continously scouting everything with haluc phoenix) so Myungsik got blink up more upgrades, expanded, warped in more sentries to save up energy for later, made more immortals and engaged only when there was opportunities given by Dark. Better player won clearly.

myungsik should win this, no? depends on the vision range he gets to the ramp, but shouldn't he be able to micro his 2stalkers and only ever et shield damage, while the canon or a zealot will eventually die after 100tries?
Myungsik should win this, keep attacking the zealots until they have to move from the ramp, run stalkers up the ramp and then you can micro versus zealots. Eventually attack the pylon from behind and win?
I think myungsik has range to attack the cannon with stalker from the left side of the ramp (and not from the ramp), thus being able to kill the cannon slowly, using his stalkers 1 by 1 to prevent cannon shield to regen (a position where parting's zealot can hardly do anything against it)

The best and safest way to do it is actually to attack every 10 second with 1 stalker (the same, until his 80 shield run out). This way ur second stalker always comes back with full shield when the other has done his job, and cannon never regenerate shield. Might be a bit slower, but really safe and working

3 zealots and 1 probe killing 3 buildings vs 2 stalkers and a probe killing 5 buildings. It's doable, especially since the cannon had shields back at that time, it would have stalled for a while.

Thats why i said cannon should probably be at range of the middle of ramp, the area where parting can "dance" his zealots back and forth, thus making it impossible for myungsik to ever commit up the ramp, but of course in such a high-paced game its hard to choose the right spot in an instant

I tend to think of Childish as a far, far better songwriter than a rapper.
That being said, holy fuck the beats on it are amazing. Shadows, Telegraph Ave, The Party, Sweatpants (at least until it got old - I've played it too much), Earth : The Oldest Computer, Crawl and World Star are all great. Zealots of Stockholm is also really great, although in a different way.

That sucks because he could have really seized the initiative in the series. Even against PartinG he looked like he could do something but needs more mental fortitude.

Yes, he opened very well in both game 1's and made crucial mistakes in the late game. I'm hoping we'll see more of his play soon though

Well, that series vs PartinG... how should I explain. You see, proxy 1-gate happened. In all 3 games. And in game 3 both proxied but Myungsik did a slightly better job.
If someone ever wanted to know why so many Zerg hate to play against Protoss: Here we got it! Took PartinG 20 min to build anything beside Stalkers (and a DT once in a while). I hate it :-P

To be fair: It took PartinG 20min to build anything but Gateway units. Not what I'd consider a standard game.
Meh I felt both of them had some weird decisions in that game. Not exactly high level PvZ. But I guess they are trying to figure it out in the absence of swarmhosts. Uncharacteristically sloppy by Parting though.

You don't understand, he was told gateway units are supposed to be bad.
But yeah, Terran doesn't win vs Zerg without AoE unless Bomber is playing.

Yeah totally the same /s Anyway barracks unit are always supported by medivacs and mines/hellbats(they're not being build from barracks btw). I just don't think it's good design when stalkers can trade so effective vs pretty much anything lair tech zerg. If parting didn't lose all those stalkers for nothing, Dark would have had no chance to win that game, despite not making any major mistakes

To be fair he has one of the best control in the world. The problem is you can show it only with blink stalkers and sentries. What else you want to micro in Protoss units?

There's some translator in his earpiece i believe. Absolutely no way he's translating himself cuz he's speaking at the same time as them, no pausing to collect the info, and that's very hard to do even for the best translators

People keep calling Parting the best Protoss in the world. Well today, Myungsik not only proved those people wrong, but he proved to the world that he is the best Protoss in the world. His play yesterday was impeccable. Nobody has seen that level of micro since MC vs Squirtle in the GSL where Squirtle lost to a 2-rax. Myungsik is gonna win this season hands down no argument can be made that he won't. He is truly the best player to grace this game at this exact moment.
Also, don't get me started on his PvZ. He beat Dark, one of the best up and coming players ever. He can beat anyone.
Darku Getting tired of seeing the same old sentry stalker business in every PvZ, hoping someone can pull some innovative strategy out of their sleeve to deal with it.
Crazy to think about that a GSL finalist from last Season was two times one map loss away from being eliminated in the RO32. Life also won both of his quarterfinal and semi-final in the last map in Season 1.
