This series if baffling to me. It's almost a throw by Innovation. This is the final match before advancing to one of the biggest, best,most prestigious SC2 tournaments in the world, and one Innovation has a shot at. So he proceeds to abandon all semblance of the matchup and stops making widow mines? In THIS series?
What semblance of logic could make him do that? These series are the worst, because it's about seemingly sily decisions like this that decide it, and this is one of the best players in the world!

Oh, of course. He was never bad - he's still not really bad. I just don't feel like INno vs Life at GSL was a good display of eithers skill (I think it was honestly a really awful series by INno and a pretty bad one by Life. INno redeemed himself at Katowice, though) and I felt that his 7-0 was largely just too robotic for my taste. I tend to find INno's wins to be pretty lacking in anything I enjoy watching and more just "Yeah this guy's way better than his opponent". But yeah, INno's still not bad, he's just not interesting so when he doesn't play abnormally good there's no reason for me to care.

I used fan as a means of saying "when he plays well, I'm happy for him". It's not like when he wins i go "fucking hell why does inno have to win" or anything.

Cause of the rock placement. Basically there is a maximum closeness to where the spines are put. The most important thing when holding off a rush like this is to hold the ramp with a bunker in such a place where spines on the low ground cant hit you on the high ground. Considering you can only place the spines so far forward, Inno/SKT could have found a solution, especially given how much time they had.

Nah but that's not what I mean. What I mean is that MK's game didn't really show us ByuL's build. What did they know? That ByuL liked to proxy a hatch behind the rocks, build 3 spines, and enter in the main with speedlings, spines and a Queen. But they had no information at all about what ByuL intends to do once tanks are out, about his precise spine placement, etc

Bomber has done that for a long time. That style is only really effective if you do it within the widow that zerg does not have a robust economy. Trying to do it in a macro style requires so much mechanically out of the Terran

Parting beating MacSed was expected, but I'm very surprised about the other two results. Both Innovation and sOs have looked sharper than their opponents in Proleague lately. Guess you can't base all predictions on that.

I knew Innovation would get completely outplayed. I hope he doesn't fall into obscurity like other great Terrans before him. Hopefully he will keep doing well like MMA, Bomber and Polt. Those are the Terran legends that have not fallen. Hopefully he doesn't turn into an Mvp and just drop out of tournaments left and right. Judging from his recent Proleague and individual league performances, I can confidently say that Innovation is heading towards just completely falling out and never coming back. His play is simply put God awful.
